Re: help setting temperature on s9

thanks for your response. i think the hose must be defective, or more likely the unit. it could have been wet when i attached it. maybe i shorted something out? the tube is on properly but no temperature icon. i've been in clinical menu trying auto, manual, patient modes, but no sign of being able t...

help setting temperature on s9

hi - i just got heated hose, and my s9 unit won't let me set a temperature. i held down the 2 buttons to get into the secret menu, where there is settings of auto, manual or patient, and none of these let me change a temperature. all i see is the little water droplet on the menu, not a thermometer. ...

Re: help troubleshoot

that is the best news ever if it is just muscle soreness and will go away. at first i thought the chest pain was heart problems, then when i did the test and stopped using cpap and my chest felt better, i thought maybe i had lung problems. i'm mid-40's and otherwise healthy (no issues with physicals...

Re: Full Face vs. Nasal Pillows? Mouth Breather

i thought for sure i'd be a mouth breather. i breathed all day with my mouth and not my nose. when the sleep technician said i'd breathe through my nose when i was asleep i didn't believe her. but sure enough, i did. so try the small before the full face

Re: why a new bipap machine every 5 years

not planning on doing anything like this, but had a random thought. if you changed insurance companies, i guess you can get another machine? might have to have sleep study again?

waking up out of breath

hello. one of my main symptoms bringing me to get a sleep study was waking out of breath and chest a little tight. i was hopeful my diagnosis of needing cpap would resolve this, but it doesn't seem to have. 5-10 minutes after waking. i catch my breath and chest tightness subsides and i go about my d...

nose stuffs up - air can't go in...

hi, i'm only a few weeks into using CPAP, and i have both a nasal and pillow mask. i've been switching off trying to get my nose used to the pillows. not sure if this is a coincidence, but when i've been using pillow type recently, my nasal passage gets fully clogged half through the night, and no a...

s10 or s9 autoset?

which one would you recommend? are these like cars, where new models might not work great? the thing i like about s9 is it looks smaller without the humidifier than the s10 would be, and would take less space to pack if you don't use the supplied carrying case. i just got a 9 but can switch to 10 if...

After using for a week...Questions, Thoughts, Experiences

I was glad to ultimately get a good machine based on positive reviews i read here - the Resmed Autoset s9 - but it wasn't easy. If i allowed my sleep center to corral me right where they wanted, i know i wouldn't have gotten Resmed, and doubtful i would have gotten a top Resperonics model either. So...

experience with my cpap/titration study...

Arrived at the sleep study center relaxed. They had me try on nose pillow style, and the triangle that just goes over the nose style. The nose pillow was the smallest, and felt the least like i was wearing a mask, so i opted for that during the sleeping. As i shifted in the bed, air seemed to make n...

help with machine styles - auto vs. manual?

hi, after my first visit to sleep center, they said i need to come back for titration. i called back to ask if a return visit was really necessary, and they said something about if i can an automatic device, then they don't have to do titration, which i guess is measuring how much air pressure i nee...

help with what to expect during titration sleepover

hi all, first time poster. i was diagnosed with mild sleep apnea, and lost weight and that didn't help my symptoms. i went to ear-nose-throat specialist, and he said due to shape of my tongue, i need CPAP. i went for initial sleep study, but not yet for titration. i understand they'll give me a mach...
