Perforated eardrum

I injured my eardrum this morning and the urgent care doc believes I broke my eardrum. I have an appointment with the ENT tomorrow to find out for sure. Anyone had experience with using their Cpap while having ear pain? I don't want to make things worse but I won't be able to sleep without my machine.

Re: Dizziness and ear problems

I have seen the doctor since my ear infection (it was a few months ago) and she said everything looked fine. The dizziness just started about a week ago. I do tend to have low blood pressure, so that may be a factor. I know you're not doctors...just looking for advice/support.

Dizziness and ear problems

It's been a while since I last posted. I have been on cpap for about seven months. In that time I had a nasty double ear infection and recently have developed dizziness, especially when standing straight after bending forward. Coincidence? I wondered if anyone else has had similar experience.

Re: Dealing with my nose!

I started out with nasal pillows and changed to a nasal mask. I tried the different pillow sizes and just could not get a comfortable fit. The nasal mask keeps in place much better and stays sealed even when I change sleep positions during the night. I have the F&P Eson, which is super quiet. May be...

necessary to clean humidifier tank? how often?

Hi guys. I was watching YouTube tutorials last night and a guy was saying that you should empty out any unused water from your humidifier tank every morning and wash it all in warm soapy water. The reasoning was that bacteria love wet and warm conditions. Be that as it may, I hardly ever clean my wa...

Re: F&P Eson and Simplus frames. Are they the same?

Are you asking if the full face mask and the nasal mask have the same hardware?

OK to use cpap while sick?

Hey guys. I have been sick a little over a week now. It started as a cold with a cough and then turned into a double ear infection. I am on antibiotics now to get rid of the infection but I still have massive sinus pressure. I didn't use my nasal mask for the first few days because I was too stuffed...

Re: Elves!

[quote="chunkyfrog"]Mittens sounds like good solution. You could even tape the mittens onto your hands.
This could become very awkward if Mittens is the name of your cat. [/quote

Ha! No, her name is Sally O'Malley.

Re: Elves!

Clearly I am being silly with the elves theory. However, I don't know why I keep taking my mask off during the night. Apparently something is bugging me in my sleep (or semi sleep). Short of taping my mask to my face, what can I do to stop it?

Elves!

That's the only logical explanation I can come up with as to why I keep waking up in the morning to discover that my mask has been removed during the night. You would think that my cat would fend them off or at least alert me to their presence. But no! Has anyone else experienced this phenomenon? If...

Re: Nose dryness

You might want to use saline spray also. I have nosebleed issues myself (since before cpap). I have had good results from upping the humidity on my machine. Also I found Neilmed saline gel at Walgreens. It has aloe in it and seems to soothe the inside of my nose better than the spray. See what works...

Re: Neck muscles ache from CPAP?

I agree that a pillow change might be in order. Before going on cpap therapy, I was happy using a memory foam pillow. I found that it is much too "unforgiving" when I have a mask on my face. Try something a bit fluffy that can accommodate movement. Also, try propping your hose up on your bedpost to ...

Re: Correlation Between Deeper Sleep and Higher AHI?

Your post and comments to your post actually make me feel better. I had an AHI of 8.0 last night. But last night was the most uninterrupted I have had since starting cpap therapy. I just switched from nasal pillows to a nasal mask and that's made a world of difference for me being able to move aroun...

Re: trouble adjusting-- anxiety and noise =(

Hi. I am pretty new to the forum too but welcome. I have a free app on my android called Relax and Sleep. The have 20 or so different sounds to choose from and you can adjust the volume of each separately. You can also combine sounds, which is pretty cool. Personally I like to play campfire and broo...

Re: Pets Disrupt sleep (per study mentioned on TV)

My avatar kitty's name is Sally. I was worried she might be upset by my cpap machine but I can only conclude that she likes it. Last night I found her sleeping next to my pillow, comfortably surrounded by my heated hose. It's awfully nice of me to go through all the trouble of getting a sleep study ...
