Ok, thanks. I will change it when it gets here in a few days. 8 on my old machine has kept me at 0-1 AHI.

cpap to auto cpap
My old cpap machine has been set at 8, which is the prescribed setting. My new auto cpap has been set to 4-20. Should that be set to 8-20?

Re: I Just Got My Auto CPAP Machine!!
I just ordered this machine, I can't wait to use it. My current machine is making a whistling noise and I can't wait to get rid of it. This is the 2nd time I've had to replace my PR One, so I'm done with Philips.

New noise from my machine
Starting 2 nights ago, a quiet, yet high pitch tone has come out of my machine. My machine used to be silent, and I've had it for about 2 months. It is slightly less when I exhale and but is right back when I inhale or hold my breath. I've changed the filter, looked inside through the back hole, and...

Re: Leg cramps
My sleep study there were 113 periodic limb movements of sleep and 21 per hour of sleep. there were 21 periodic limb movements with arousal's and 4 per hour with arousal. Just 3 nights ago I woke with that pain in my calf. My toes were spread apart and any movement made it worse. it actually, for th...

Keeping headgear in place
I'm going on 48 wonderful days of cpap therapy, and I've been working out the kinks and I have finally found what works...almost. I can't keep my headgear in place. I'm female, long hair, and I have to adjust the back of the head strap at least 3 times a night. I think I've been waking up because wh...

Re: I *finally* slept through the night!
I should add that I've had insomnia for almost 20 years. (im 46 now). I haven't slept through the night in almost 10 years. So the fact that I've slept through the night 2 nights in a row makes me feel like a normal person.

Re: I *finally* slept through the night!
Update: I slept through the night again, this time almost 6 hours! And I fell asleep almost immediately, which for me is amazing.

I *finally* slept through the night!
I started cpap almost 2 months ago, and I've been waking up 3 or 4 times each night. Completely frustrated, though my AHI has been 1.0 or less the past month, I'm tired of waking up. But last night was the first night I slept all night long. I think I may have found my 'set up". Yesterday my pad-a-c...

Re: Compliance - why only 4 hours?
A lot of us don't have the luxury of having 8 hours of sleep night. i work the closing shift and I don't get home until 11.30pm, and after winding down and getting into bed at 12.30ish I'm back up at 5am to get the kids up and off to school. And once I'm up... I'm up for the day.

I have to keep my modem attached for 3 months, then I turn it in. After that, I have to manually upload my data every 30 days or they won't pay for anything.

Re: Cleaning Silicone Cushions (Poll)
Since I noticed you are using a PR System One machine and also a SoClean machine to insure germ-free equipment, I'll bet you don't know about the two silicone port gaskets inside the humidifier housing that need to be cleaned from time to time. To find them look under the hatch lid and then at the ...

Re: Cleaning Silicone Cushions (Poll)
I've only been on therapy less than a month, but my daily cleaning is wiping the mask/cushions with a Citrus II wipe, then it all goes into the SoClean 2. And once a week everything gets cleaned with Seventh Generation clear and free dish soap, air dried, and back into the SoClean.
