Re: SoClean

silicone and ozone don't mix, check chemical references. To be fair, I'm not actually sure if the rubbery parts on the mask, the gasket in the lid of the S9 humidifier, etc., are technically "silicone" or some other type of material. I use a ResMed Swift FX nasal pillow mask. Does anyone know if th...

Re: SoClean

This is quite a common. According to the folks at SoClean, the discoloration won't damage or weaken anything - it's just an aesthetic issue. That said, who knows. I mean, what else are they going to say? "Our machine is great, although it will, ultimately, shorten the life of your other equipment."?...

Re: SoClean

One would think that both the original SoClean and the SoClean 2 would have had to have been cleared to be safe before receiving funding and going to market. I would also think that they would have had to have shown that their product would not damage expensive medical equipment. I have no idea who ...

Re: SoClean

I ordered a SoClean 2 last week and while awaiting its arrival I've been continuing to research the device. I called the manufacturer and spoke to them about concerns that were raised here and elsewhere about potential damage to plastics and other materials used in the manufacturing of CPAP equipmen...

Re: Anyone had a Multiple Sleep Latency Test (MSLT)?

Thanks for the input. I actually haven't had any issues with air leaking from my mouth. When I use nasal pillows, I get a leak rate of 0. When I use a nasal or full face mask, the leak rates are higher, but only because of poor sealing, due mostly to my mustache and beard or simply a poor fit.

Re: Anyone had a Multiple Sleep Latency Test (MSLT)?

Hi everyone - thank you all for the great feedback. For some reason I didn't receive email notifications that your replies had posted, so I just saw them for the first time. I apologize for not acknowledging them sooner and, again, I really appreciate the input. I had the MSLT Wednesday night throug...

Anyone had a Multiple Sleep Latency Test (MSLT)?

After six weeks of using my newly prescribed CPAP machine (46/46 nights of 4+ hours, thank you very much!) I met with my sleep doctor to review the data. The good news is that my API is way down. The bad news is I'm still exhausted during the day. He recommend that I have another sleep study, follow...

Re: Struggling with Tap Pap Mouth Piece - Any Tips?

Thanks for all the input. I tried it again last night and apart from the front of the mouth piece slipping down a little from my front teeth (due to a purposely loose fit) I didn't experience any pain or leaks. We'll see if it shrinks up between now and tonight. If it does, I'll try the warm water.....

Re: Struggling with Tap Pap Mouth Piece - Any Tips?

Thank you for the feedback. As far as leaving it in my mouth longer than the four minutes described in the instructions (2 min. sucking, 2 min. with mouth open) I've actually tried leaving it in my mouth for something like SEVEN HOURS! Believe it or not, it STILL shrunk up the next day to the point ...

Re: TAP PAP

You might check out a few threads here and other forums. From what I've read, there are some people who swear by the TapPap and others - like me - who want to love it but are having trouble with the fitting of the mouth piece. It's initially very easy to get a proper and comfortable fit; the issue I...

Re: Two New Airfit Masks, F10 and N10

I ordered both masks the day they were announced and I'm on the fence about both. I like the N10 because I can get a good seal with no leaks - even though I have a beard and mustache - but it does put a lot of pressure on my upper lip. I wish it had a gel lining and/or a swivel system to adjust the ...

Struggling with Tap Pap Mouth Piece - Any Tips?

I recently bought a Tap Pap nasal pillow mask and while I'm impressed with the design of the system, I'm having a horrible time getting the mouth piece to fit, or should I say, getting the mouth piece to maintain it's fit. I've literally gone through the mouth piece fitting process dozens of times. ...
