Re: anybody know anything about diabetes?
Doctors like McDougall claim to "cure" diabetes with a strict no fat vegan diet. And some people do have dramatic improvement in the short term. So if your friend wants to go that route then at least it might help. Vegan and especially no fat is the polar opposite if what I think is good for long t...

Re: anybody know anything about diabetes?
1) The specs are not accurate. We don't need any where near that much food. Remember they specs are coming from the same people who told us that meat is essential to our diet. That's the problem was baselines. it depends on what condition the person was in when they were set. May as well be specs f...

Re: anybody know anything about diabetes?
Troll? Right, you moronic asshole, you caught me. I joined this group a few months ago so that I could spam you with my website. Even figured out CPAP machine and mask to put down, so it would be more convincing. What an idiot! They shouldn't let so small bring out by itself. You should talk with yo...

Re: Just diagnosed and on ASV - PLEASE tell me things get better
An important correction: well the download is primarily for the sake of the insurance company and them being satisfied that you're actually using the machine, insurance company requirements vary. For example, mine wants to know that I'm using it 80 percent of the time, as they define that 80 percent...

Re: Hybrid Masks?
Thanks, all of you. Sounds like the Liberty is the way to go. Banner Health says they can order me a hybrid. Just don't want to waste anyone's money on something I'm not going to like/use. We already did that with the Gel, which will now be donated to a local medical supply bank, so it's not a total...

Re: anybody know anything about diabetes?
Some of you will do pretty much anything to keep on eating fat and flesh, won't you? Because that has worked SO WELL for SO MANY of you so far, right? No, it is NOT "better". It's not even good. Truth. Medical reality. Fact. Spout all that nonsense if you like. There is far too much scientific, medi...

Hybrid Masks?

Any of you have firsthand experience with these? I like the idea of not having gear over the bridge of my nose, so I can read with the mask still on... and of having a bit more liberty, but dunno how well it works.

Ditto what the others are saying. Resmed PR 60 Series System One Machine, with heater. But while you're at it, get a DC cord (and battery, if you can get away with it.) If you go on vacation, a long plane ride, etc, you will want to take it with you.

Re: Just diagnosed and on ASV - PLEASE tell me things get better
This is a very good place for you to be. Some of this has already been said. I find that I was well-guided to the Quatro mask. A friend loves his Gel, but I found it was too heavy and didn't like the way the frame put pressure on my forehead. Turns out, he uses the NASAL mask (like you initially sai...

Re: anybody know anything about diabetes?
Both of those posts are right, have valuable info and important questions. How much metformin? What OTHER drugs? Diet IS a factor in controlling T2 Diabetes. It isn't the only thing, by far. Another thing to check: Testosterone levels (both of them) and Thyroid levels. If he's eating lots of flour a...

Re: new quattro air mask
Leaks haven't been my issue (but my machine is automatic and the CP is at 10), But the first night, I put the hose back in but at an angle, even though it clicked, and it was doing something very similar to what you described. Since, no leaking issues, but the silicone has caused the skin on my chee...

Masks: ResMed Quatro Air or Phillips/Respironics Amara?
I've had my CPAP for a bit over a week, using the Quatro and have noticed I'm developing red marks on my cheeks alongside my nose, presumably from the silicone on my skin. Talked with my RRT and he offered to give me cotton pads for it, and also gave me a Amara gel to try instead, which I'll probabl...

Re: Vegetarians Less Healthy, Lower Quality Of Life Than Meat-Ea
Not true either. It used to be claimed that B12 comes ONLY from animal flesh. That has since been disproved as well. It is a byproduct of bacterial growth, which happens quite readily outside of a living being's body, so we don't need animals for anything anymore. Quite the contrary, this is EXACTLY...
