Re: Travel machine
I travel quite extensively for work. I just bring my S9 with me. I've occasionally thought about a smaller machine, but it really has never seemed like much of a bother. I keep it in a small roller board. When I take little planes, I check it at the gate. When I take the large planes, I put it in th...

Re: New and Excited -- Now with Graphs! [updated 5/1]
Good going! Sick with it, Latinist!
I'm new, so I dont have much to offer other than encouragement, but I can tell you that my worst day on CPAP is better than my best day without.
Keep on hosing!

I feel like I have Super Powers
I'm at the airport killing time before my flight home and was just reflecting on my client visit, and contrasting the trip that I took the week before I got my machine. 4/7/14 trip was terrible. I felt like I was mad of lead. I felt dumb; hunting for words, couldn't grasp complex concepts, couldn't ...

Re: First Night on CPAP... and thanks!
Congratulations. Sounds like you are taking to this therapy like a duck to water and that's really good. If you can already tell such a marked improvement...I am pea green with envy. Thank you so much, Pugsy! But don't be too envious. The road to get here was very long. My symptoms were very scaril...

First Night on CPAP... and thanks!
...and I have very little to gripe about. I slept 7 solid hours last night. Woke up at 5:45am without an alarm... which is UNHEARD of for me. It took a bit longer than usual for me to get to sleep, but it was under an hour because I dont remember the radio (which is on a timer) shutting off. The mas...

Re: How do you 'influence' the doctor prescription
If they say it doesn't really matter or they leave it up to the DME; tell him you've been doing a bunch of research online. You want to follow your data, you'd like a machine that will take care of your needs if you lose weight or change sleeping positions, you'd like one with the most up to date t...

Re: DIY Humidifier Chamber Question
If you are comfortable with drilling the container, plumbing fittings, and the hardware aisle at Home Depot, you could connect another container to it at the bottom. The water levels in both containers will naturally equalize. In theory, you could have infinite capacity.

How do you 'influence' the doctor prescription
So, it would seem that there will be a phone call from the doctor who evaluates my sleep results prior to the prescription being written. Would this be the time for influencing them that the machine must be data capable, have all the bells and whistles, dispense as written? Do we usually need to pus...

Re: Hello, CPAP Forum!
So, I followed up with the sleep lab this morning. They indicated that they would take 7-10 days to evaluate my test results, then they would write the appropriate prescription.

Re: Hello, CPAP Forum!
I too was delighted to find out I had apnea and had an explanation for why I felt so horrible for so long. I don't know how common that reaction is as my doc/nurse seemed taken aback by my enthusiasm. Seriously! I was ecstatic when they told me that they found something! Something I could target. S...

Hello, CPAP Forum!
So last night, I had my second sleep study, the one where they put you on the CPAP machine. I was a bit nervous going into the test, but some advance reading that I did on this forum helped me out quite a bit. Thanks to all of you! My first test went horribly. I couldn't get to sleep. My heart and t...
