ASV questions and concerns
It has been a long time since I posted here and in the past I have gotten some wonderfully useful information, especially from Sludge (who figured out I had a shunt well before my doctors!!). Anyways, let me give an update on what is going on. I have been off bipap since Nov 2014. The reason I stopp...

Re: "Easy Breathe" Tech confusion
Any chance that a change in sleeping position is involved? Like sleeping on your back more which could make a person have more OAs and need more EPAP pressure? What do your reports look like? Clusters of OAs or spread out randomly through the night? Sorry, I thought I responded but I guess I didn't...

Re: "Easy Breathe" Tech confusion
Just an update. On the 24th I turned my easy breathe back on to see what would happen. Once again I went from 0 AHIs to 9.70 AHI and woke up feeling horrid. I woke up early that morning so I switched the easy breathe back off again and went back to sleep. But this time instead of going back to 0 AHI...

Re: "Easy Breathe" Tech confusion
Thank you. Pretty much all OA and very little Central. I have no idea why changing Easy Breathe would make such a big difference in obstructive events. It doesn't seem like the pressure change is that big of a change. I can see the changes when using EPR (say at 3) might allow some events to happen...

Re: "Easy Breathe" Tech confusion
Did you turn off Easy Breathe or EPR? What was the breakdown into each event category of that 12 to 15 AHI? Here are a few: Hypopnea 0.31 Apnea 0.0 Obstructive 11.81 Clear airway 0.15 Hypopnea 0.24 Apnea 0.0 Obstructive 14.85 Clear airway 0.0 Hypopnea 0.16 Apnea 0.0 Obstructive 9.54 Clear airway 0.31

Did you turn off Easy Breathe or EPR? What was the breakdown into each event category of that 12 to 15 AHI? I will post that tonight. My youngest uses my laptop for his school lessons The EPR was set to 0. I noticed when I tried using that setting that too increase my events. I turned EPR off after...

"Easy Breathe" Tech confusion
When I got my S9 Vpap Easy Breathe was turned on. At first I was doing pretty good with low AHIs each night (AHIs 1.2). Then all of a sudden I was running AHIs 12-15 each night and waking up like a zombie. Three nights ago I turned off "Easy Breathe" and my AHIs are down to 0!! I wanted to make sure...

Re: AHIs through the roof and feel like heck
Central apneas are complicated. Usually you have three options: live with it, have your BiPAP set to auto or get a more expensive machine (ASV - specifically designed for the treatment of central apneas). Central apneas aren't understood very well by most physicians and are correlated with several ...

AHIs through the roof and feel like heck
The last two nights for whatever reason have been really bad. I have had really bad leg pain and wonder if that can affect my sleep too. I haven't taken any additional meds for it, just what I take daily so I know it isn't that causing it. On Monday it was 11.67 and on Tuesday 7.98 both night the ev...

Re: ResMed Shutting Off and not turn back on when power goes out
My smartstart seems to be working fine with my mask. We had a couple power outages last night as we had a bad storm. So all is well there. Yes, avi short for avatar. Before I got sick I was a macro photographer (easing back into it once again ) and so my avi might be something creepy crawly or somet...

Re: ResMed Shutting Off and not turn back on when power goes out
You might want to put an "uninterruptible power supply" (UPS) between the house power and your machine. If your power problems are usually short, you would not need too much battery capacity to carry you through the fluctuations and short outages. They are the same things computer users use and are...

Re: ResMed Shutting Off and not turn back on when power goes out
Sometimes Smart Start will have trouble with the smallest size of nasal pillows, But this has no connection with power outages--I think. Anyone know how it works with oral masks? I am considering switching to the Oracle 452 mask since I have had 4 sinus surgeries. I have had a lot of sinus pain and...

Understanding S9 VPAP data I:E and other data
I am a little confused on what this data means. From what I have read on the web my I:E numbers seem high. Can someone explain what this all means to me? Min Med 95% Max Resp. ResMed Shutting Off and not turn back on when power goes out
It seems silly that Resmed or any cpap/bipap has a soft button. My oxygen has a hard on/off button so if there is a flicker in the power (it's on a surge protector) it doesn't shut off and stay off. Anyways living out here in hillybilly hell, the summers we have a lot of power issues. We rarely lose...
