Nasal pillows that vent out vs. non-venting - does it matter
I recently had to switch from OptiLife to a P10 nasal pillow mask because my equipment supplier no longer carries the OptiLife. With the OptiLife, there was a small vent on the front of the mask that let air escape. With the P10, there is no vent. I mentioned this to my doctor and he asked if I had ...

Optilife pillows mask discontinued - Similar product?
Supposedly the Respironics Optilife nasal pillows mask is discontinued. My equipment supplier wanted me to try a full-face mask, which I don't want to do, but of course they sent me one anyway. I'd like to be able to call them and request a specific product if I can, so I'm looking for ideas on a su...

Resmed S9 travel bag alternatives
I'm expecting to do some traveling with my CPAP and one of the things that's bothered me about my S9 is the junky travel bag. It's ok, but not ideal really. I'd be interested in getting something a little better quality, made with more durable materials. I'm specifically looking to do some camping a...

Re: Ear popping/clogging
I'm prone to allergies but haven't had much of an issue with them yet. Usually around pollen season I get hit with allergy symptoms.cflame1 wrote:Been sick recently, or have allergies?
I did have a cold a couple of weeks before I started CPAP, but that was resolved by the time I went on the machine.

Re: Ear popping/clogging
Does it Auto Adjust between 5 & 16 cmH2O or is that the ramp function starting at 5 and going to 16 and staying there? I suspect the latter as the machine listed in your signature isn't an Auto Titrating unit. Since you have the Escape unit you can't post details which would probably help figure ou...

Re: Ear popping/clogging
Thanks everyone. Guess I'll be calling the ENT tomorrow.
Hope there is a way to get past the ear issues. I'm already a bit discouraged from cpap in general, not feeling any positive effects from using it yet. So adding in these ear issues just makes an already unhappy situation worse.

Re: Ear popping/clogging
Just wanted to bump this post and hope someone has some info/experience with this problem. I've gone a few days now with constant ear clogging, that feeling that I need to pop my ears but can't. It's getting really annoying, to the point where I'm debating taking a night off the machine to try and g...

Re: Newbie - Is my pressure too high?
Thanks, everyone. I just updated my profile.
Is the Escape really that bad? Is it just that it doesn't capture data or are there other known problems with it?

Re: Newbie - Is my pressure too high?
I pulled the data from my card and here's what I got: http://www.emberstudio.com/random/cpap-03312014.jpg It doesn't seem like a lot of data. I was hoping for AHI and average pressure data, which seems to be missing. Is it because I haven't been on the machine long? Or could it be my machine isn't s...

Ear popping/clogging
I'm on day 13 of CPAP usage, and so far it's been going ok. I've experienced some ear popping during the first 10-15 minutes of trying to fall asleep, typically as my machine ramps up and the pressure changes. I need to occasionally take off the mask and yawn to pop my ears. Not a big deal really. B...

Re: Newbie - Is my pressure too high?
Will using that software do anything to the data on my card? I'm still in that initial usage period where I need to send the card in to the equipment supplier to verify with my insurance company that I'm using the machine.

Re: Newbie - Is my pressure too high?
My machine is the S9 auto. I've tried the ramp at 15 minutes, 30 minutes, off, doesn't seem to matter. I don't think it's hitting 14 while I'm asleep. I'm just getting this weird period of high pressure during that first 20 minutes or so of trying to fall asleep. I should say, I don't think the pres...

Newbie - Is my pressure too high?
Hi folks. New guy here, on CPAP for 3 nights now, using a Resmed S9 auto with humidifier, Respironics pillows. Untreated I was at AHI 6, Overall RDI 23, diagnosed with moderate positional OSA. From my first night, I noticed a few times that the pressure would hit really high levels (or what feels hi...
