Re: What to do with extra nasal pillows and mouth cushions?
You can also sell them on eBay. I've purchased quite a few accessories on there myself. Note: Cpap machines and entire masks require a prescription in the USA, so eBay bans those specific items. But mask components and accessories do not require an rx. E.g. Cushions, pillows, headgear, chin straps, ...

Re: ABN Question--Is this common?
CpapPappy is correct. Medicare prohibits generic ABNs.
See Routine, Generic or Blanket ABNs (40.3.6.1 to 40.3.6.4):

Re: Can I get some help with a Medicare question?
I can shed light on compliance vs continued use and the annual documentation requirements. Compliance is the 90 day trial period for the initial machine. i.e. You used the machine 4+ hours for 70% of the days during a consecutive 30 day period. Continued Use is what the suppliers are supposed to doc...

Re: Can I get some help with a Medicare question?
Something just occurred to me - does Medicare require that you be compliant in order to get your supplies and see a sleep doctor even if they don't pay for your machine? If they do, then I am screwed. I don't mind paying for my supplies out of pocket, but I'm not going to pay another doctor to just...

Re: How to Replace Lost CPAP?
Actually, Medicare does replace lost or stolen patient owned DME. See page 2 for more info: http://www.resmed.com/content/dam/resmed/global/documents/articles/1014977-repair-and-replacement-fast-sheet-us.pdf You will need to submit a formal letter to your supplier explaining the loss and a police re...

Re: P10 for Her Headgear is Smaller
Stephen, thank you for the 2nd comparison and photo! Pugsy, thank you for noticing the complete mask package vs replacement headgear! It wouldn't surprise me if there was a manufacturing mistake and they are letting the faulty units flush out of inventory. Especially when you consider the cost of a ...

Re: P10 for Her Headgear is Smaller
LOL - This is why I love forums. Where else would people get this passionate over cpap headgear length? Good times... Since a picture or two is worth a thousand words (see below). These are both brand new replacements that I received yesterday. I specifically ordered both because my wife's DME swore...

P10 for Her Headgear is Smaller
I received both versions of the replacement headgear today and confirmed the pink headgear is about an inch shorter/smaller than the standard blue model. So cpap.com's product description is incorrect: "AirFit™ and AirFit™ For Her QuickFit™ Headgear Size: The only difference between the headgear use...

Re: Anyone use "MY AIR" on resmed site
Yes, I use it with a new machine to verify compliance and get a basic overview of the night.
I wish it allowed us to drill down for more details. E.G. Click on the AHI (Events per hour) chart to see the ratio of obstructive vs central apneas.

Re: Did CPAP help me to lose weight?
I lost 15 lbs in my first year.
Obviously the machine didn't do it alone, but it helped provided more energy that allowed for more exercise and greater discipline with my eating habits.

Re: Apria sucks - there I said it.
I ran into the same issue with Rotech. I had a generic rx that said patient's choice for mask, but Rotech insisted on a specific rx for every mask. I.e. One for Quattro fx, another for a P10, etc. I can use the generic rx if I pay cash and order online, but dealing with insurance companies require m...

Thank you for the comprehensive post! I am about a year into my cpap treatment and discovered many of these tips through trial and error, so it is an excellent resource for new users. And I want to 2nd the ear plugs and eye mask / black out curtain suggestion. I have only recently discovered a corre...

I reported Palerider's posts to staff. I doubt it will do any good if this forum is strictly SEO for cpap.com, but I am hoping there is at least 1 admin or mod that is paying attention. @Datetree, thank you for asking the questions. I have been lurking this forum for over a year and have also been d...

Re: Low AHI but wife says I'm snoring at night?
Another possibility if you are using a nasal mask is the air exhaling through your mouth and causing a 'rumbling' sound. My wife complained about the same problem when I started. I assumed it was snoring or a mask leak until it woke me up one night. My body eventually compensated, but you could also...
