Re: Tap vs. Distilled Water
[quote="birdshell"] The RT's all recommend distilled water. I have only done CPAP for about 2 months, so in the beginning I e-mailed ResMed, asking about the minimum amount of distilled water required for safe operation of the humidifier. (I was throwing away almost 2 cups of distilled water daily.)...

Speaking of sleep aids..........
I was under the impression that sleep aids were not good for those of us who have Sleep Apnea. Am I wrong? I do have allergies and I know that I sleep better when I take one Benedryl. Should I not be taking an antihystamine?

Swift Nasal Pillows System
I have heard nothing but rave reviews about the Swift Nasal Pillows System. It will probably the next mask I purchase, but I have a few questions first. For those of you who use it, how invasive are the cannulas? The Nasal Aire II seem to go too far into my nostrils, causing discomfort. Can you sle...

Okay, I think you guys have definitely answered my question! Thanks alot! From the beginning of my CPAP therapy I trained myself to breath through my nose because breathing through my mouth felt weird, with the rush of air and all. Anyway, I have been using my IQ Nasal Mask lately, rather than my N...

Confused about mouthbreathing :/
As some of you know I am new here. New to CPAP as well. I don't THINK I mouthbreath, because when I fall asleep I am breathing through my nose. I'm just curious though.........if you do mouthbreath, are you getting the therapeutic level of CPAP needed?

I AGREE
Looking at your picture, it's not apparent you would have OSA. Goes to show, you don't need to be 200lbs. I alternate NasalAire II with a mask in the when my house is dry. I like it so much better than pillows. My doctors always noticed that I have large tonsils, even when I was 120 pounds. So yeah...

I TOTALLY FEEL YOUR PAIN
I am going through the same problem with my headgear. I am not sleeping well because of it. Sometimes, I HAVE to take it off because the head strap gives me a headache. I've loosened the headgear straps, but that just causes the mask to slip off. For the past few weeks I have been thinking of ways ...

[quote="Anonymous"]It is usually from air leaking into your eyes from the mask, this is NOT good for your eyes at all. Either that or the air is going through your sinuses and drying your eyes out from the inside. Neither condition is good, I would use some eye drops but I don't know which to sugges...

Re: love that nasal aire
[quote="Terry Flower51"]I love my nasal aire II...When I began using it, I used some saline nose spray each time before I'd put it in (and then after I'd take it out in the morning too). Also I'd use a generic ( =super cheap) version of old fashioned ky jelly (not the new warming kind!!!) This worke...
