Re: Coughing up mucus in the morning
I thought I should provide an update on where I am at. I went back to my GP with a written document of all my symptoms. He went back through some old scans and found one from 2008 which indicated I was suffering from sinusitis. I had told him that I had started back on Nasonex but he got me to have ...

Re: Coughing up mucus in the morning
Dry mouth means mouth breathing which means with a nasal mask you are losing therapy. Coughing up mucus could mean GERD is still there. Do you seep flat or do you have the head of your bed raised? I sleep flat but am prepared to try sleeping raised. Would an additional pillow be sufficient or are y...

Were you able to resolve the issue? Can you inform me of how if you did resolve the issue?Nick Danger wrote:I agree with Blackspinner - make sure the GERD is under control - that could lead to the mucous - I know it did for me.

Re: Coughing up mucus in the morning
That is really interesting. I think it may be prudent for me to go back to my GP and organise to get another gastroscopy. It would be my first since the fundoplication and hiatus hernia repair surgery.

Re: Coughing up mucus in the morning
Thanks for all your responses. There are some pertinent points raised which has helped direct my own investigations. I probably should have mentioned that I am a mouth breather and I have always worn tape. I visited my sleep technician on Thursday just gone and he uploaded my data and went through w...

Coughing up mucus in the morning
Hi All, Just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience or can point me in the right direction. I have been a CPAP user for the best part of 9 years now. I also suffered recurrent chest infections for years and have recently discovered that some issues I have experienced with my throat feeling...

Re: Sore throat for 9 months... Help!
Just thought I would post an update as I am discovering that there are a number of people that do suffer the same symptoms as I do. The post about thrush resonated with me as I have been on quite a few anitbiotics over the last ten years. I too went to my GP and suggested this could be an issue. He ...

Re: Sore throat for 9 months... Help!
Styxer that is very interesting what you say about your doctor saying you have thrush. I too have taken antibiotics regularly in the last 10 years and wonder if this is my issue as well. Did the doctor do some type of swab or were they able to tell by just looking at your throat and mouth? I have tr...

Re: Sore throat for 9 months... Help!
I would absolutely love to know how this person went - did they ever find a solution? This is pretty much exactly what I have dealt with ever since starting CPAP therapy in 2006. The description provided was articulated perfectly, much better than I have been able to - I have never been able to find...

Re: Throat issue that won't go away
That is a fair point Julie. I am not going to completely discount using a full face mask but would prefer not to go down this path if at all possible. I guess I am a little frustrated to read that there are other mouth breathers who use tape and don't seem to have the problems I have experienced.

Re: Mouth taping
This is something I wrote around Christmas, maybe it will be useful to somebody. I happen to think it makes mouth taping a lot safer, but that's just my opinion: This is mainly for nasal mask users. Here's how I use 3M NexCare multipore plastic tape to tape my mouth by using a 'rip-away slit' which...

Re: Throat issue that won't go away
Thanks for your responses. I tried a full face mask some years ago but could not get it to work for me - I just couldn't get to sleep. I am consciously trying to become a nose breather by breathing through my nose at all times during the day and setting reminders for when I slip into the habit of br...

Throat issue that won't go away
Hi All, I have been a CPAP user for about 8 years now but I have had an ongoing problem that I had hoped would be resolved with some surgery that I have recently undergone (fundoplication). Anyway I don't want to go off on a tangent, so don't focus on the fundoplication. I posted this question about...
