Re: What do you think about my pulse ox report?

I've found that my pulse ox report can vary depending on how I have it on my finger. My waking Spo2 is around 95, so I adjust the finger boot until I'm getting around 95 before falling asleep. Now my basal is normally around 94 and my average low is around 91-92. My Spo2 event index is similar to my...

What do you think about my pulse ox report?

Here it is. Lot of events, but my average low is only a couple percent below basal. What's confusing is so many events, which is a 4% change, but my average low is only a couple percent below at rest. So, I guess my SpO2 is going up too, beside down, from basal. But what I'd really like to know is, ...

Re: I'm new. I think I have apnea. Advice?

Thanks kaiasgram. I guess there's no harm in sticking with APAP for now. I get some air in my stomach if I sleep on my side with the mask on, but I guess that's not a big deal. In reading a little about UARS, dental appliances are commonly mentioned. I think I've seen things sold on Amazon that you ...

Re: I'm new. I think I have apnea. Advice?

kaiasgram, I do see the correlation. I'll attach screen shots that show flow limitation and pressure. I'm trying to determine if I should continue with the machine every night. Maybe I would sleep deeper without it. Any suggestions? http://www.willjackson.com/img/15.JPG http://www.willjackson.com/im...

Re: I'm new. I think I have apnea. Advice?

I don't think I understand flow limitation, but there is a difference between the two nights. Does the difference mean I should continue to use the machine?

Re: I'm new. I think I have apnea. Advice?

Another update ... I thought I was feeling somewhat better after starting with the CPAP treatment, and it was a relief to not struggle to stay off my back, but I've still been struggling with daytime fatigue. I've assumed that it would be worse without the machine because the pressure would rise to ...

Re: I'm new. I think I have apnea. Advice?

kaiasgram, I'm feeling better than I did. I tend to be a little restless in my sleep after 3am or so. But I feel much better about getting some resolve to the apnea concern I've had for a while now.

Re: I'm new. I think I have apnea. Advice?

Update ... It feels like a lot has happened since I last posted. Pugsy found a nice ResMed S9 on Craigslist in my area and also donated a nice pillow nasal mask. She helped me set up the machine and gave me feed back on my report. I really appreciate it. Thank you Pugsy, and thank you to everyone wh...

Re: I'm new. I think I have apnea. Advice?

I was leaning toward pulse oximeter, but would this make more sense?

Again ... I don't know if I have sleep apnea regularly. But I'm pretty sure I've been having it some.

Re: I'm new. I think I have apnea. Advice?

I just now saw your post 49er. Thanks for your input. I don't know. I have thought of just buying a machine. I'm pretty sure I have sleep apnea some of the time, but I don't know how bad. I don't think every time I fall asleep I instantly start having sleep apnea. I'm pretty sure I've had problems w...

Re: I'm new. I think I have apnea. Advice?

Not Fade, the doctor did give me 5 mg of Ambian at my last sleep study. I did fall asleep for a short time and then work up and was pretty much the rest of the night. The doctor did kinda leave the door open for me coming back. He said something about if it get's worse, or something like that. And h...

Re: I'm new. I think I have apnea. Advice?

Thanks for your reply Not Fade. I had two sleep studies and hardly slept. The doctor didn't ask me to take a third, but he did kinda leave the door open if I wanted to come back. I thought wearing a pulse oximeter would be something I could do and see what kind of results I'm getting. It's during ti...
