Re: First airplane trip with CPAP
Since I have TWO medical devices and one doesn't have a carrying case, they are both going in a small rolling case that theoretically fits under the seat I'm really aiming for just two bags on the flight out. The carry on suitcase that will go in the overhead will have a camera bag and a couple days...

Re: First airplane trip with CPAP
I leave on my first vacation with my CPAP this Friday. How much do I have to take out of my carry on? I will also have a nebulizer. I was planning on placing the hoses, electrical cords and masks in ziplock bags. What do you mean by "How much do I have to take out of my carry on"? You can keep your...

Re: Asthma and CPAP
My asthma wasn't acting up yesterday and I didn't have the chest discomfort last night. I will speak with my sleep dr and my pulminologist, but at this point, I'll just not use the cpap on the nights that my asthma is acting up, it is less than once a week, so I won't be out of compliance.

Asthma and CPAP
My CPAP is making my chest hurt, just like my asthma. If I don't use the machine, my chest doesn't hurt. I'm going to call my sleep dr. Could the pressure be too high? I'm at 13 cm. Its kind of hard to exhale thru my nose. My asthma was acting up yesterday and I just couldn't use the CPAP last night.

Re: Woke up and the hose was off and cpap was turned off
Aliens. They like to mess with us like this. Make us do all sorts of things in our sleep that we don't know or remember. When they get bored with the "removing the mask thing"...they will likely throw in weird little things on your reports that can't be explained. That's what they do to me now. I k...

Re: When can one discontinue CPAP useage
My dr looked into my throat and pretty much said I had apnea due to the narrowness of my trachea. Sleep study confirmed this. 14 ahi on my side up to 66 on my back during REM. At my follow up appointment today, we discussed my weight. She said MAYBE if I lost over 30 lbs, my pressure could be lowere...

Re: And now for mask number 5
Got my Airfit P10 this afternoon. Will be trying it tonight. Fingers crossed. I was using the Swift FX nasal pillow before, but as a side sleeper, it was slipping a touch because of the head gear. Hopefully the softer head gear will be better. And the exhaust won't bug me when I sleep. Have you tho...

Re: Can't break the restless sleep
I know I shouldn't play on the ipad so close to bed time. My main thing is the waking up after I fall asleep. I will discuss this with my dr. I see her in 2 weeks as my first follow up.

Re: Can't break the restless sleep
Did you have this "restless sleep" prior to cpap therapy or is it totally new? The restless sleep on top of my snoring was why I went for my sleep study. So not new. How many times a night would you estimate that you wake up? When you do, how long before going back to sleep? The restlessness is cou...

Can't break the restless sleep
I have been really good with wearing the cpap. According to my machine no big leaks or many AHIs. But I can't get any good sleep periods according to my Fitbit. If they last more than an hour I consider myself lucky. No luck in the past week or so. I think part of the problem is the "exhaust" from t...

Re: Keeping your mouth shut. Literally
I checked the readings on the cpap. The AHI shows .7 for the last week. Large leak is 0%, so maybe I'm not mouth breathing too much.
