Re: How often are you woken up by xPAP?
My machines have never caused me to awaken, early on I used to wake up wondering if it was working as everything I heard and read said it would be horrible to adjust to, air blasting in the face, pressure going up, etc. I took to it great and never had any issue. Had a few mask issues that caused me...

Re: lurker coming out
I have been told by one MD already that if I lose 30 lbs, the machine wouldn't be necessary. I don't know how that all figures but there it is. I was 6' 225 lbs with 7% body fat at 32 years old when I started CPAP therapy. My doctor was insistent that if I lost 30 lbs I'd no longer need CPAP therap...

Re: Attaching Philips Nuance to ResMed S9 - Help!
I have a Resmed machine and the Nuance pro mask, the regular tubing and slimline tubing both fit the mask. Hose slips on the end of the short tube same as the mirage does.

Re: Lost power Saturday night
We now have a 5000 volt generator now & it runs both CPAPs, freezer, fridge, TV and a household lights. These are handy, but run around $400-500. I wanted a whole house generator but they go into the thousands - yikes! We have a whole house backup generator, it is comforting to know it is there if ...

Re: Home sleep study vs sleep lab
I think you just had a rotten sleep lab. Many are like hotel rooms with all the amenities. Was going to say the same thing. The 3 labs I have been to had select comfort and tempurpedic beds, very nice flat screen TVs and satellite, remote at the bed side. The rooms were very quiet and dark. Also sc...

used cpap supplies
The demand for used stuff isn't as great as I thought it would be. See my topic here http://www.cpaptalk.com/viewtopic/t97224/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=96729&p=900827#p900827. I would guess part of the problem is you said don't ask for my stuff unless you pay out of pocket or have a high copay. Many peop...

Insurance covers a new mask monthly for me and my wife but no need to get one that often.Stevoreno_55 wrote: I don't know of an insurance company that will agree to pay for a new mask every month

I just quit drinking soda and lost 45 lbs in about 6 months without any other changes to my diet or exercise. Less sugar made a big difference bad feelings much better.

I run 18-24 cm h2o every night using nasal pillows with minimal leaks. I don't have the headgear all that tight on my face, I use lansinoh now which allowed me to loosen the fit.tvfrfireguy wrote:Nineteen is a lot of pressure.

Re: question about family members using Cpap
I've about 95% sure my dad passed away from sleep apnea. I was diagnosed in late '06, my sister gas been in denial a couple years about her sleep apnea and refuses treatment. So I do believe it is hereditary to a degree.

Re: Encore Pro 2.xx install
Well I've tried for the last 3 days to get Encore Pro 2 installed and it's so particular about the SQL Server setup that it's a major pain to get it all setup correctly. I finally gave up. In my opinion it's way too difficult for the normal user to deal with. Unless Ubnoxus can give us a simplified...
