Re: Resmed S9 VPAP Auto setting questions
Thanks for your post. Well, I may need to ask for another sleep-study and see what gives.

Re: Resmed S9 VPAP Auto setting questions
Yes, I do have it, but it doesn't give me enough info regarding how all of these settings are done.

Resmed S9 VPAP Auto setting questions
I was issued this machine and have been doing my own settings. The unit is running in the "S" mode. My pressures are 15/11. I experience not breathing very often and the machine doesn't seem to pick up for me and get me to breathe. I see there are two functions on the machine that can be set but do ...

Need to make a change to my therapy!
On the 'inspiration' cycle, it seems like it wants to give me just a bit too much air. I would like to lower that. Can anyone tell me which function I would do that on on my machine? Thanks!

Re: Innovative ways to seal your masks?????
Ok all of you leaky maskers, I've come across a most unique way to seal a leaky mask and you may find it here: http://www.cpapseal.com/home . They have a video there that you will want to review. I'm going to order one and try it UNLESS someone here tells me that they've tried it and it doesn't work...

Re: Innovative ways to seal your masks?????
DAG, that product is showing as discontinued as of April 4. The stuff scuba divers use is a silicone mask sealer. It works very well. You only use a small amount, so a small pot is lasting me a long time. I had the wrong link for this product. I have since changed it so try it again and you will fi...

Re: Innovative ways to seal your masks?????
I would NOT use New Skin, I use that to seal in cuts on fingers when sewing, crafting, etc. It creates a waterproof seal, BUT it peals & it contains some strong stuff, it smells like paint thinner & burns like fire when applied to a cut. I don't have it handy to read the ingredients, but I'm sure i...

Re: Innovative ways to seal your masks?????
Have you tried mask liners? Somewhere on the "net" there is a pattern for a DIY liner that you can use to make your own from old t-shirts....leaks are a problem, I agree, and mask liners are what I use.. and I do make my own after spending some $ on my first trial of them. Yes, I've tried them. I h...

Innovative ways to seal your masks?????
Has anyone found any other way to stop leaks, say, with some type of 'sticky' substance that could be spread on the mask and would stick to the face? There is a product called, "New Skin" that is used to cover scratches, etc. Has anyone tried this for sealing? There just has to be something out ther...

Re: An "ah ha" moment this morning with mask...
The hovercraft analogy was the best I've seen. I put my mask on, let it warm up before I make any adjustments. Then with the Mirage I crank the knob until the leak stops then back it out a click at a time until it comes back, then in a click at a time. I'd swear letting the mask warm up makes a big...

Re: An "ah ha" moment this morning with mask...
I have often told folks to try and resist tightening their straps when leaks start. I have told I'm crazy.... but I get told that every day. I think your mask should "float" on your face. When I mask up and turn the machine on... when the mask inflates, it will slightly "lift" off my face. If it do...

Re: An
It took me months to actually hear what the folks here were saying: go loose unless you hear or feel air. It also took me relaxing about the mask, and resisting that "oh-oh, I could tighten that" feeling. My masks are now looser than ever, with way fewer leaks. As a result, better therapy. You're o...

An "ah ha" moment this morning with mask...
Since I've been on CPAP therapy on my new machine (ResMed S9 VPAP Auto) since 4/1, and with my pressures raised more than double, I've noticed that unconsciously I've been making my mask-straps tighter and tighter each night until instead of DECREASING the leaks, I've INCREASED them! During my 2nd s...
