Re: NJ Transit Workers Contest Post-Crash Safety Policies
I have to have a DOT medical card for my job, Neck circumference and BMI are the criteria thy use to require a sleep study. I was not compensated for my time to do the sleep study. I had to pay my copayment for the 2 sleep studies I have had, along with the copayment for the CPAP machine. All in all...

Re: CDL w/mild to moderate sleep apnea
I have a CDL license and have mild to moderate sleep apnea, or so the Dr. says. I have been reading that you don't have to use a cpap machine if your apnea is mild to moderate. I can't tolerate the machine and need a different way to be in compliance. Has anyone went with a dental devise and which ...

Re: Can I skip some days?
You don't show your machine in you profile. So I don't know if my solution will work for you or not. My Respronics machine will run off 12V with the Respronics cable. I made a box with a cable running directly to the battery box on my trailer. It has a cigarette lighter plug on the end for the CPAP,...

Re: Roaring loud humidifier
As has been posted above. The wires are for the heated tube. The dry box is retained by a catch on the rear of the humidifier. I use my fingertip to pull down on the catch while using my other hand to pull the dry box out.

Re: Roaring loud humidifier
Gary UT, by "seal" do you mean a flexible gasket? The only two in there are (1) on the tubing outtake going up and (2) on a connector leading to the side to the the air hole from the CPAP. There is no flexible seal on the clear acrylic water chamber itself, nor on either surface of the two machines...

Re: Roaring loud humidifier
Yikes! First night trying a humidifier, roaring like jet engine. Without humidifier, machine was quiet. Is this normal? It is a PR System One, never used before. It is not normal, my system one is quieter with the humidifier. There are 4 seals on the system one humidifier, any one of them can cause...

Re: Humidity and seal questions
The normal recommendation is loose enough for the seals to inflate, but not overly tight. You want it just tight enough to prevent leaks. I use the same mask. But my higher pressure requires that I tighten it pretty tight to keep it from leaking. It's not tight enough to cause red marks though. As a...

Re: Quatro Air fitting question
Unfortunately with no insurance at the moment & limited funds (he was out of work 4 months but working now, I've been out of work 3 months and still looking) I can't get him a full mask right now. I did just buy him a new cushion since his was past worn out & recently got a tear in it, so hopefully...

Re: Quattro Air cushion sizes
I use the Quattro air.
My first mask was a size large, this was a complete mask. I switched to a medium cushion on the original frame and it fits fine.
When I recieved a complete replacement mask I ordered a size medium, and the frames are identical.

I have to renew my DOT medical card in November, what did you need to bring to prove compliance with your CPAP treatment?

Re: Modem doesn't get signal where I live, LOL!
They will only care when/if they need to submit an invoice to your insurance and don't have the compliance data your insurance company requires. Or they will do what my dme did and make up data for the insurance company. I was on a 3 month rent to own plan, I took my card to the dme after the first...

Re: CPAP and vacation
I've been on CPAP for about a month. I'm going on vacation and really don't want to have to travel with it. What do you think? I'll be gone for 8 days. Take it with you and use it. I take mine on one night trips. Your health is the main reason to take it with you. However if your insurance is payin...

Re: PR 460, machine hours higher than blower hours. UPDATE 5-30
Last week I sent a certified letter to the head office of my DME. I included photos of the display showing the difference between blower hours and machine hours, a copy of my Encore summary showing the hours I have used it, and a photo of all the labels on the machine. Plus a copy of all the paperwo...

Re: PR 460, machine hours higher than blower hours.
On insurance, you don't usually buy a CPAP machine. It's rent to own, so why would you expect a new machine? Did they tell you it's a new machine? Did they write it down somewhere. It was a 3 month rental, then it is mine after proving compliance. Since they charged full retail it sbould be a new m...
