Re: Submitting CPAP.com purchases to your Insurance Company
I just recently called Cigna to find out if I could buy the DME myself and submit the claim to them. They were real bitchy and rattled off a bunch of information I would have to get from the seller to do this - like federal tax ID blah blah blah.

Cost of Home Sleep Study?
Wondering if anyone has a recent cost for a home sleep study. I had the impression it would be less than $500, but they billed the insurance $1,382 of which the insurance took their discount down to $953. My HRA was low so they still want me to cough up $639. I have a faint hope they I was erroneous...

Re: Why don't they just give you a BiPAP from the start?
I was given an APAP. It probably cost more but it substitutes for a titration study. My insurance would not pay for an in-house sleep study nor titration, so an APAP set to 5-20 was prescribed and it will be fine tuned - perhaps even back to a CPAP - after 60 days. It even has a cellular data transf...

Re: What were you, and what are you now?
I'm a "newbie", about 6 weeks in. My home study showed an AHI of 63. My 30 day average AHI on an APAP set to 5-20 is 12.X. Rarely a night below 10. I do feel better though. Hopefully they can fine tune the setting at my checkup soon.

Re: Full face masks
I've been using the Quattro FX for 6 weeks. The pressure level makes a big difference. Since I have an APAP set to 5-20, I have to have it on pretty tight or it will leak into my eyes at 12 and higher. Otherwise I am pretty happy with it. I look forward to having my APAP range narrowed up at my 2 mo...

Re: Am I getting robbed?
I'm right in the middle of this. As above, it seems I am renting the machine for 3 months, after which if I am compliant, then $$ paid for rental will be applied to the purchase. Everything else is a straight purchase - at stupid high prices. I had suspected that would be the case but I tried to buc...

Re: Doc says I need some work on my sinuses
I am fairly certain I have had OSA for many years but only in the last month gave up and now have a APAP. But 5 years ago I went in for a septoplasty and turbinate reduction as I was a mouth breather all my life. Doc said I would need to take a week off work. A few hours after the surgery I went hom...
