Re: Amara View with high pressure

Not quite 20 but my prescription tops out at 17. For me this mask seals better than both the Quattro Air, and the F10.

Re: SoCal local DMEs?

Avasco in Simi. They are a bit slow but they gave me the exact machine I wanted with no problems. They also let me swap out my first mask.

Re: Traveling to Italy - backpack for CPAP?

Tumi makes some good stuff. Here's a check-point friendly backpack with scroller wheels that might work.

Re: CPAP Seal Gel Cushion

Just an FYI, forum member library lady was kind enough to give me one of these. I have had success with it controlling my leaks (Total Leak rate around 50 for the past week. This was on a Quattro Air at 14-17 pressure.) but have definitely noticed the scent that does not seem to be going away.

Re: Leaks Quattro Air - latest graph - question

Yes, it's working great for mask leak. There is an annoying scent that does not seem to be going away though. The packaging said a few days but I've been using this about a week and it's still there. For leaks though it's doing the job.

Re: Leaks Quattro Air - latest graph - question

Hmm, I have the same mask but am averaging around 50 total leak rate (probably cause of that gel liner you sent me ) I'm not sure what a normal range is but as long as you're feeling rested it sounds like you should be good.

Re: Fractured sleep, Ambien, dial wingin' and other things

Hi robysue,

So sorry you are suffering from insomnia Have you ever tried natural remedies? I've had success with melatonin, 5-htp, and magnesium in the past. I've also used a natural pill called Alteril that's worked pretty well.

Hope you can get this solved!

Re: Pad-A-Cheek Liner Arrived - Got a Quesiton

I started out with the Amara but it was too painful on the bridge of my nose. I swapped it for the Quattro Air. As I'm finding out, it's impossible to say what works for one person will work for another so the Amara may work well for you.

Re: Pad-A-Cheek Liner Arrived - Got a Quesiton

Wow. Just had my best night on BiPAP since starting this crazy journey. I trimmed the hole in the Pad-A-Cheek down so my mouth remained uncovered. I also turned my EPAP down from 14 to 12. No bloating when woke up, and I kept the Quattro Air on for 7hr 36m with an AHI of 1.87! It took me nearly 45 m...

Re: Pad-A-Cheek Liner Arrived - Got a Quesiton

Do you guys ever use it without widening the nose hole? So that your mouth remains covered? I just used mine on my Quattro Air last night and although it was incredibly comfortable I woke up with an upset stomach from bloating. If I cut a hole for my mouth will I be sacrificing a whole lot of comfor...

Re: Heard of these DMEs? Gilbraltar Healthcare, EDC Medical?

Hi all,

Avasco was able to get a Series 60 Auto BiPAP, and I picked it up today. Tonight will be my first night of therapy. Many thanks to everyone on this forum who provided such fantastic advice. I am looking forward to finally getting some quality sleep!

Re: Heard of these DMEs? Gilbraltar Healthcare, EDC Medical?

Yes, thanks to this forum I made sure to get a copy of my prescription and both sleep studies. Just a quick update... I called Gilbraltar and they were unwilling to allow mask exchanges so I called Avasco and so far they've been more helpful. They're currently finding out if they'll be able to get a...

Heard of these DMEs? Gilbraltar Healthcare, EDC Medical?

Hi all, I'm having some problems getting a BiPAP from Lincare. My sleep doc faxed them my prescription last Tuesday but they still said it might take up to six weeks before I receive my machine. It's already been 8 days so in the meantime I've acquired a list of in-network local DME's from Aetna to ...
