Re: Still New and Sleepy - Interpreting Flow Graphs
Can you show SleepyHead graphs for longer sleep period to include Events and Stats? Is this what you're looking for? Yes, the graphs show that your respiration waves are MOSTLY rounded (not flat) indicating no UARS, except a few waves that are distorted. Some of the Snores and RERAs could have caus...

Well, now you could try a nasal pillow mask with a CPAP and get even more air thru your expanded nostrils.billyc17 wrote:posted by billyc17---- i forgot to login.

Re: Looking for feedback/feeling crappy
Hi Everyone: I’ve been using CPAP now for over a year. I was on this site a lot at first and thank you again for all your help. I just wanted to check in and say that after over a year of compliance and finding the right pressure and mask I don’t feel much better. I guess the big picture is that my...

Re: What does this tell me?
IMO, until you clear the issue of the hi central apneas and hypopneas you should avoid the APAP mode. This is per the guidelines of the The American Board of Sleep Medicine (ABSM), that APAP is contraindicated if someone suffers from Central Sleep Apnea syndrome, COPD, etc. get your Doc involved!

Re: cpap compliant, great data, still waking often
May be your Doc is the same as I used to go to. He holds the same MDs in each of the three disciplines. Well, the one I have seen, does not know much even about S9 Autoset in APAP mode. Besides, to check for Upper Airway Resistance Syndrome, reliably, I have yet to find a lab that could do it for me...

Re: cpap compliant, great data, still waking often
billyc17, why did you mention: to recap, 47, male, narrow nasal/airway cause of osa? By any chance do you suffer from UARS (Upper Airway Resistance Syndrome)? The following are the Clinical Features: Patients with UARS have symptoms similar to those seen in OSAS, although there are some distinct fea...

Is it possible that the machine has been used for rental and was connected to a wireless device to communicate with a lab?

Re: post nasal drip
I regard post nasal as front nasal and if it's rhinitis see this:

If it's bad I then skip CPAPing

Re: do i wear my mask when i have an afternoon nap
I would, or just wear the chinstrap, but I don't take naps b/c they would interfere with my sleep. I sleep from 11:30 or midnight till 6:30, and then stay in bed for another hour watching TV. I am retired. I am convinced that taking 5 mg of Zolpidem (generic Ambien) consolidates my sleep. It allows ...

Re: Who else has primarily hypopneas? UARS?
mimico, how do you know that you had more RERAs? The S9 machine reports Flow Limitation (FL) and not RERAs. But RERAs and UARS are included in the FL that the S9 reports. For FL you don't need an ASV but you may need it if you have Central Sleep Apnea Syndrome.

Re: Moved From CPAP to APAP - Not Going Back
Penuel I can see activity & spikes on your Flow Limitation graph, but I don't know the significance of that activity - what does 'Flow Limitation' activity suggest is going on?? No it's jut the level of the FL of being there. May be if we spend a year or two more on this website it will be clarifie...

Re: Moved From CPAP to APAP - Not Going Back
Penuel I have Sleepyhead s/ware & still getting to grips with it. Need to get my head around your data. Will review/consider your questions & get back. It may not be until tomorrow. The followings are my treatment results in SH. You can see the zero for AHI but the Flow Limitation (FL) graph shows ...

Re: Moved From CPAP to APAP - Not Going Back
95C4, can you show Flow Limitation or UAR from that machine in which you get low AHIs? Very low AHIs could be a suspect for residual UARS. Look, in my case I have almost zeroes for AHIs but I still have Flow Limitations which include UARS, it means that my treatment is NOT fully adequate. My S9 Auto...
