Re: Elevated wedge pillow - use one??
I have tried every wedge made, including the one you linked, tempurpedic with the motor base, this one: http://www.overstock.com/Bedding-Bath/Comfort-Dreams-Zero-Gravity-Adjustable-3-Piece-Wedge-System/6333001/product.html. PERSONALLY, I did not like them. Other than the tempurpedic, they shifted an...

Re: Recs for comfortable chinstrap?
I got this one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008DFDNQC/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Then, I sewed a strip of microfleece on the inside. Before I had the microfleece, it made marks and was uncomfortable. With microfleece, it feels cuddly. I tried the RedMed one, thinking that it woul...

Re: So I says to the Dr. What's wrong with you?
If possible, I'd get a second opinion. I'm sure you have sleep apnea. But after everything I've been through, I know that you need the doctor to be your 'partner' in this journey. This is not a diagnosis, here's the medicine...good luck! You need to trust that person to help adapt your treatment to ...

a layer of micro fleece helped me. I got it from the remnant bin for cheap.

Re: new to nasal pillows
were you a teeth grinder before CPAP or is this new? If you're sure it's new, I would tell your doctor. I have lost tooth enamel from grinding my teeth at night and my dentist made me get a night guard because he was so concerned that I'd crack my teeth. The new sleep doctor said that many people wh...

Re: FIRST night with CPAP machine
The chin strap isn't as "bad" as you might think and it was like night and day results for me! I tried the tape, it didn't work as well as being an unpleasant thought. I was initially resistant to a chinstrap myself but after waking up with dry mouth, waking up chatting away with air blowing out my ...

Re: One Month Checkup Questions
This whole machine/insurance thing is the most bizarre thing to me. 1) "Rent to Own" is partially for you and partially for the insurance company. They want to make sure you're using the machine. If you are using it, great, you can "have" it for whatever copay. On the other hand, if you "bought" and...

Re: SoClean airflow restriction?
Thanks for posting. I had started feeling bad again and had no idea why. The doctor upped the pressure. I am traveling without the so clean and without the humidifier and i feel even better! I wonder if it was the so clean. Do you think the same effect would happen if i used so clean without the hum...

I had the runny nose too and the frustration. I can tell you that this is a trial and error journey! That might help to manage your expectations better. Runny nose...i found it to be a combo of "new sensation up your nose" and possibly allergic reaction. Not that your stuff is dirty...it's a reactio...

Re: Is it normal to feel tired and not so good again
interestingly enough, I have battled this for a bit and my new doctor said that it's possible that you're having events that the machine doesn't detect. I've been really struggling so she increased the pressure a bit and said that if that didn't work, we may redo the sleep study with some sort of da...

Re: Discouraged: still waking up!
I think one of the secrets of success is to find the mask that you really like. Once I switched masks to the Swift LT, I felt so one with the mask. I admit that sometimes I wake up, but I just roll over again. I never feel the "must rip the mask" off feeling. I actually sometimes am so groggy that I...

Re: Talking in my sleep
I also woke up talking in my sleep and I don't know that there was much info provided when I asked the same question. I will say that many times I had dry mouth etc. I tried the tape and it didn't work well for me (I would wake up wondering why I couldn't open my mouth!). I got a tight chin strap an...

Re: SoClean2 - CPAP Sanitizing Machine
I like mine. I like that it cleans the whole pathway down to the humidifier. I admit that you STILL have to manually clean the pillows, body oils on the mask etc etc. But it's far easier to throw the thing in the machine than to disassemble the mask. Admittedly, if it's a choice between food and a S...

Re: Panic Attacks All day after using CPAP !
You have to try different masks to find the right one. My pillows stopped slipping when I used the Swift LT. I chose it because it had more structure AND it allows me to route the hose up to above my head. By attaching the hose to the headband, the hose doesn't move as I move and the pillows stay in...

Re: Bedside Table Real Estate
My bedside table is a set of drawers and I had intended to put the machine in a drawer and realized that that wouldn't work because I needed to use the on/off button. So I put the machine on top and moved what used to be on top to a shelf on the wall. then I added the So Clean and it ended up on a s...
