Re: Cervical collar for a weak chin?

Alongside your efforts with a cervical collar, think about gravity and make it work for you. A pillow that does not allow your head to slide into a tucked position may help. As a side sleeper, using a firm flat pillow helped me with that. If you are the hands-on type, you could even consider a chea...

Re: Cervical collar for a weak chin?

Another idea. Here is what I use under my FFM. If prevents chin drops. (I still use a collar to keep my neck in the best position for airway patency.) It's sleep strips, a type of tape - https://www.amazon.com/Transparent-Sleeping-Restores-Breathing-Improve/dp/B0CJ86GT76/ref=sr_1_26 For the first t...

Cervical collar for a weak chin?

I think my OSCAR reports showing clusters of apneas may be due to chin tucking. I get one to two tightly packed clusters most nights for 20 to 90 minutes. Pressure pegs out to max 18 as one apnea after another occurs at an alarming rate. About once a week, no clusters. I have tried two collars with ...

Full Face Mask Interface?

What is a full face mask interface? My insurance supply list says I am to get 1 per month from the DME. I do not recall ever getting an interface in 15 years of cpap gear. I have net searched cpap supply companies, and cannot find Full Face Mask Interface.

Re: New to CPAP - Advice from experienced users would be welcomed

I read over and of that <5 is a good AHI, but it is <2 when I notice an improved difference. I understand the route you are taking. My path through doctor/test/doctor/dme/doctor/more tests/ on and on has given me ZERO information on my progress with CPAP therapy. I suspect the doctors and DMEs I've ...

Re: Help picking a DME

I went with online Versus for many years, but just two weeks ago got my first gear from a local. So far, so good with them. The previous two locals I had used had not a clue about CPAP gear, but that was 15 years ago. This new local will ship to me free as did the online one, and do all the insuranc...

Re: How are you tracking your sleep quality?

My only sleep quality indicator is upon waking, feeling unusually rested, and realizing I probably did not move from one position during the night. Due to much movement during sleep, I rarely get decent rest and often break the seal on my mask. Just by luck, and rarely, I seem to have not moved and ...

Re: New to CPAP - Advice from experienced users would be welcomed

Interesting that you went from ENT straight to CPAP provider without a sleep study. A sleep study may have shown that nasal masks do not work for you. I too have severe apnea and rattle windows with snoring...for decades. Being informed about my ceasing to breathe for up to a minute, repeatedly got ...

Re: Resmed Airsense 10 AutoSet

I just got a new AirSense 10. My last one, after 5 years of use, was the best of four machines. A couple of months prior to getting the new one, I had to slide the water tank in and out a few times to get it to seal. It could be fully inserted and not seal, but working it in and out a few times got ...

Re: Cheyne-Stokes percentage, via Oscar

For the first time in 15 years, that I'm aware, Cheyne Stokes events appeared on an OSCAR report. That night I also was wakened by the mask fluttering on my face several times. I wonder if that fluttering action caused OSCAR to indicate the CS events.

Re: Feeling like I'm suffocating.

That's a really low, low end pressure you have. I am a full face mask mouth breather. Chin straps and tape have not worked for me. I fit for M but have to use size L masks because I open my mouth so wide to breath in sleep. I've never been able to correct dry mouth. Getting use to CPAP was quite a c...

Re: Airsense 11 offgassing

I have returned my AirSense 11 for a return to a 10 due to the off gassing chemical smell the 11 produced and the fact that the filters come apart. I have a photo of an AirSense 11 filter on a post here that so far, no one has replied to. The filters for the AirSense 10 are now of loose fibers too, ...

Re: ResMed Airsense Auto 11

I am returning my AirSense 11 today for an AirSense 10. The 11, I picked up last week has loose fiber filters and the air from it has a chemical smell. Out of 5 CPAP machines with various filters, this is the first one I have seen that does not have the filter fibers encapsulated in membrane like co...

Re: AirSense 10 & 11 filter comparison

I am scheduled to exchange the new AirSense 11 for a 10. I have contacted ResMed about the loose fiber filters and the chemical odor that is present in the air outflow.
