Re: How may I reset my ResMed S9 to record 30 days detail again?
still do not undestand how I may reset my ResMed S9 to record 30 days detailed results again.? As long as you have a the SD card in your S9 each night it will have a rolling 30 days of detailed data on it. As each day passes the 31st day is automatically deleted and the new 1st day is added. You do...

Re: Sleep Apnea and Atrial Fibrillation are connected
I stumbled upon this thread while searching for another topic. My situation supports the subject statement. I've Congestive Heart Failure and have had Paroxysmal Atrial Fibrillation for at least a couple of years and am convinced that such damage has been caused by my, unsuspected until recently, Ob...

Why just 30 days detailed records? The rest are summaries
I've been downloading the data recorded by my ResMed S9 Autoset every day and have been viewing the overnight breathing records. However only the detailed graphs are available for the first 30 days I have used the device; the rest being statistical summaries. Is there a way of getting the device to ...

Re: How may I overcome OSA to get my UK driving licence back?
I have been planning for a while to buy a pulse oximer like this one: http://www.clinicalguard.com/handheld-pulse-oximeter-cms60d-p-171.html Sheer laziness on my part to not have bought one yet. I had a letter yesterday stating that I have an appointment on 16 Jan 2014 with the consultant who issued...

Re: How may I overcome OSA to get my UK driving licence back?
bogready, Yes I have been thinking that a bipap may be more affective than my APAP. I don't have to buy my machine because my NHS trust provides it. I have always had problems breathing through my nose and am a mouth breather due to having a large overbite, broken nose and deflected septum (drilled ...

Re: How may I overcome OSA to get my UK driving licence back?
Pugsy,
I'm getting to understand how my APAP works thanks to you and this forum.
robysue's message was very helpful as was and is yours. Increasing the minimum pressure may well help reduce or stop the centrals and/or the hypopneas..
I hope you enjoy your little trip.
Mike

Re: How may I overcome OSA to get my UK driving licence back?
If a central apnea is when I stop breathing with an open airway, I'd have hoped that my APAP having sensed (by lack of back pressure?) and recorded the apnea, it would have increased the air pressure after a central had lasted say 10 seconds. As far as my hypopneas (shallow breathing?) are concered ...

Re: How may I overcome OSA to get my UK driving licence back?
Thanks for the reply Yes I do have saggy soft tissues in my airway. I think that the pressure increases after I have a Central or a Hypopnea and that tends to wake me up. The higher air pressure then continues for what seems a long time. Looks like it is essential that my minimum pressure is increas...

Re: How may I overcome OSA to get my UK driving licence back?
robysue, Thank you very much for spending so much of your time to process and interpret the data. a. With the risk of repeating myself my first two days were when I slept on my back and being a mouth breather that position promotes OSA and very restless nights. Possibly having been a SCUBA diving in...

Re: How may I overcome OSA to get my UK driving licence back?
Sorry to have posted a table that could mislead. I've posted the full contents of my SD card as a zipped folder here: http://www.eacott.org.uk/sddrive.zip Also these are the drugs I'm taking daily as prescribed by my National Heath Service doctor: 1. An angiotensin-II receptor antagonist, Olmesartan...

Re: How may I overcome OSA to get my UK driving licence back?
TonyE, Here my Obstructive Sleep Apneas, OSAs, have to become controlled. In my case by using a APAP machine every night for up to 30 days. The NHS consultant will then read the data on the SD card from the machine, make the decision and write to me and my GP. If OK I can then re-apply to the DVLA f...

Re: How may I overcome OSA to get my UK driving licence back?
Hi, are you aware that atrial fibrillation is very often a direct result of OSA? And that BP is likely to drop once on Cpap? I mention those because you're on meds for them and I'd want to get them checked out once you've been on Cpap for a while as your need for the meds might change (for the bett...
