Re: How does mouth breathing impact sleep apnea?
Have you tried the SleepWeaver Anew full-face mask? It is made of cloth and the air causes the inside of the mask to balloon out and form a seal. Some users found it difficult to stop leaks with that mask, but I'd be willing to bet that many of those were simply over-tightening the mask. It needs to...

Re: Q on setting up SoClean with Resmed humidifier
I was particularly concerned about ozone because of the respiratory issues I've had in the past and also because I have a small parrot that has a very delicate respiratory system. Ozone exposure would be a problem for the both of us. The people at SoClean have assured me that the level of ozone rel...

"CPAP porn"
I have to admit, a video by TheLankyLefty is why I use the SleepWeaver Anew.

Re: New high tech bed stops snoring
There is an article in today's edition of the Minneapolis StarTribune about a new Sleep Number bed that stops snoring, measures heart rate, and all sorts of other metabolic activities by the bed itself , with the sleeping person not wearing any wires, hoses, etc. Probably a limited market, as the p...

Re: Q on setting up SoClean with Resmed humidifier
okay - so overall I found this very interesting... I use ozone in my hot tub to reduce the amount of chemicals that I use in the water. Never have I given any thought to effects of ozone on me.... http://www.epa.gov/apti/ozonehealth/population.html sure makes me want to do more research on ozone le...

Re: Q on setting up SoClean with Resmed humidifier
Star444: Do you put your Sleepweaver mask in the SoClean? I haven't been putting mine in it because SoClean recommends not putting nylon masks in it because the nylon will deteriorate faster. I've been undoing the mask and putting its fittings on the hose to clean in the SoClean and then I hand was...

Re: Q on setting up SoClean with Resmed humidifier
locust - thanks for your input. Dumb question...you put this "SoClean" bedside so that you can stick the mask in without unattaching anything? Or is there an alternate/better solution? It must be placed relatively close to the CPAP machine since they will be connected together. A thin black tube wi...

Re: CPAP for OSA, now TENS for RLS & PLMD?
There is another bulletin board like this one that deals exclusively with RLS. You can find it at http://bb.rls.org/ Thanks for reminding me of that board. I was a member once but when they retooled their site I couldn't get in for a while and forgot to revisit it. I see I've got some reading to ca...

Re: CPAP for OSA, now TENS for RLS & PLMD?
I started my therapy a few weeks before you. I have severe RLS, but my OSA was rated as mild (AHI 10). Therefore, my primary focus has been on learning about the triggers and controls for my RLS while adjusting to aPAP therapy. There is another bulletin board like this one that deals exclusively wi...

Re: Q on setting up SoClean with Resmed humidifier
guys...one other question that I didn't understand from some comments. Someone had a resmed humidifier with heated hose. The person got the $30 special attachment but claimed that every day, the hose had to be detached and reattached. I hate to sound lazy...but I felt that that was what I was buyin...

Re: Q on setting up SoClean with Resmed humidifier
I also just got the SoClean2 and I want to set it up with my Resmed S9 Autoset and humidifier today. I just did the standard cleaning with vinegar and then the SoClean neutralizing pre-wash. Do I need to let my hoses and everything air dry before I hook it up to the SoClean? The instructions don't ...

Re: Q on setting up SoClean with Resmed humidifier
Star - can you tell me...does it shoot the ozone into the humidifier chamber whenever you clean your mask? That's my assumption from watching the tube video. I had a similar experience with a water bottle... There's a tube that comes out of the SoClean that gets inserted into the humidifier. (Exact...

Re: CPAP for OSA, now TENS for RLS & PLMD?
Good luck finding a doctor to prescribe and guide you using the TENS for your PLMD. It's not mainstream treatment. Meds are. I had the TENS prescribed for my back pain, and discovered its usefulness for my legs out of sheer desperation after having to go off the meds. The good thing is you don't ne...

CPAP for OSA, now TENS for RLS & PLMD?
I began CPAP therapy on 11/4/13, and still find myself waking up quite often throughout the night. Not surprisingly, I still feel sleepy and unrested. Is the CPAP controlling my OSA? I can't tell that for sure since the machine I was given is a "brick". But, I did purchase a pulse oximeter and find ...
