ResMed 10 ERROR MSG: Motor has exceeded ...
Dear CPAP Friends: My ResMed 10 is four months shy of 5 years old and a "Motor has exceed" life expectancy warning message now appears in the LED display. I called my DME and they said the ResMed 10 will suddenly stop when the motor hits a pre-determined number of hours. Though the DME could not tel...

Re: Any DME recommendations for CPAP equip?
I'm not Medicare age yet, so it is Blue Cross of Florida - which is called "Florida Blue". I will check with them and see which DME's are part of their network.

Any DME recommendations for CPAP equip?
After 4 years as a customer of Aerocare I can't take it anymore! They have gone fully automated and ship unneeded supplies, trying to return them requires speaking with a Customer Service rep which is virtually impossible. Spent 2 hours on-hold today trying to speak with a live Rep and ultimately th...

AirFit P10 SMALL nasal pillows - free
After two cycles of trying the AirFit P10, I had to switch back to the Swift FX. The head strap stretched out too much on the AirFit and I wasn't getting a tight fit after 1-2 weeks of using the AirFit. I called the manufacturer and they were "surprised" to hear my complaint. They said this was the ...

Any need for a travel machine?
I often read references to people buying a 2nd machine for travel purposes. Fortunately if I do travel it is only 3-4x a year and perhaps 1-2 nights per trip. Given how rare my travels are, not sure the need of a travel machine exists. What I would find reasonable is buying a 2nd CPAP machine for ho...

Reviews of new AirFit P10 Resmed nasal pillow mask thread
PEER PRESSURE... At the suggestion of my DME, I agreed to try the AirFit P10. Given I had no problems with the Swift LX, and in fact, was quite happy with it, I thought to myself: "Self, although the Swift is GREAT, maybe this will be beyond GREAT!!" Tried it for one night and quickly went back to t...

Re: How many of you are 100% compliant?
Just call me Pavlov's dog! Within 60 seconds of attaching my nasal pillows I am in dream-land. Of course I could sleep standing on a Manhattan bus too; but that is beside the point. Went for a Compliance check this week and my MD said I was a rarity since I was 100% compliant; something she doesn't ...

Re: No Data (Sleepyhead) again and again
Two thoughts come to mind: a) Have you UNINSTALLED the Sleepyhead software from your computer and re-installed? b) The SD card that you remove from your xpap machine has a little "lock" tab on the side. Usually a white slide tab. Is that in the UNLOCK position? I'm wondering if the SD card is not re...

Re: Can a doctor force me to use a specific machine?
I'm only about 6 weeks ahead of you but had a similar experience with my DME. My doctor wrote an Rx for ResMed Brick and after 2 weeks I learned that it was the basic model with no data reporting feature. I called my DME and asked about "upgrading" to a better ResMed. I wanted the "Elite" model, not...

Re: CPAP machine around little kids
Good answer Bavinck - I agree with you 100%. It is a combination of two answers that I would endorse: 1) Let the child know this isn't a toy for him to play with, but also to avoid temptation... 2) Put the machine on a high shelf when not in use. If this were a firearm, or a hunting knife you wouldn...

Re: My leak percentage is too high
I'm trying to imbed the image of the report-chart that shows the Leak but can't seem to figure that out either. It appears the following: Median is 10 L/min 95th Percentile is 50 L/min Maximum shows nothing But once I figure out how to imbed the image, perhaps that will shed more light. Thanks for y...

Re: My leak percentage is too high
The tech pulled the SD card from the back of my CPAP and examined the data of 14 days. It was there she determined the number was "50" not from my 20 min office visit. I don't know if "50" was percentage, or raw-score, or what... I'm not versed *(that is why I'm asking here). I saw the report that s...

My leak percentage is too high
Firstly I am grateful that so many of you here armed me with the information I needed to convince my DME to upgrade my "Escape" to an "Elite". Although there was a little push-back from the DME, I was ready for it, thanks to your help, and went after them like a hunter who goes after a mosquito with...

Re: My machine is a rental?
6'3? That's short... I'm 6'6, Jankenitz. I happen to mention to the entire office staff at the DME's in a LOUD voice: "my doctor and the entire pulmonary department at the Cleveland Clinic will be asked to refer future patients to a different DME.." I think that got their attention too. And the funn...

Re: My machine is a rental?
With all your advice, the "exchange" from Escape to Elite went like a charm. There was push-back from the DME so I then called Florida BC/BS who said, " if your DME gives you any problems, you let us know and we personally will rattle their cage. " I verified with the MD that she had written the Rx ...
