Weird Loud Noise

The last two nights my husband has been home with me (he works nights). On both nights I have woken up a couple of times to a really loud noise, sounds to me like a road drill coming from inside my mask. My husband said it sounded like a car starting up outside to him. What the heck is it? There did...

Re: Biggest concerns when going for your night study?

My biggest fear was that there would be no results at all, I would be told I did not have sleep apnea and there would be no help in sight for the hell I was going through. I honestly felt like I was dying.. believe I was. It is 17 days in and still tired and sleepy but not as bad every day. The lady...

Re: Tips for Mask Problem

Thank you both. My Pulmonologist set my levels at 7-15 so that is where they are right now, the machine automatically adjusts depending on what is happening. I LOVE everything about the machine itself, humidifier, climate line, controls I can adjust easily and the easy reports and this mornings repo...

Re: Why do you use CPAP?

Because I am hoping to stay alive longer and feel better. I am hoping to have a better quality of life. Because it is saving my life in my opinion.

Tips for Mask Problem

The other night I had so many problems with my mask it drove me nuts.. so I lay there in bed watching a video on how to fit my Quattro Air.. I did it! The rest of the night went well and no mask marks. Last night I got it fitted great and I thought, I got this.. until it started spraying air in bits...

Re: British Social Medicine - Disaster

I was about to comment on that but I am not touching it. I don't think a religion based discussion or a political based one is particularly helpful on this. What I will do is say what I said when a work colleague of mine said to me that he believes that if people smoke or eat too much and become obe...

Re: Utility Letter - Interesting Issue

I am NOT in any danger of disconnection, I have not received any disconnection notice. I did say that. The reason I wrote the post is that to me, it just seems wrong that a Doctor would write a letter in the event that the power fails because it would aggravate your medical condition but he will not...

Re: Utility Letter - Interesting Issue

No.. she said that they will do a form (letter) that refers to power outage but they will not do one in the event it is because the patient has received a disconnection notice.. she says he does not do those.. period.

Utility Letter - Interesting Issue

Hi folks, Posts I have read on this forum encourage contacting your electricity company to let them know you are on a medical machine. So after struggling on their website I emailed them to let them know that I am and what machine it is. Predictably ComEd replied they wanted a Doctor's letter and wh...

Small subtle changes

I have been on CPAP for about two weeks now and I am beginning to notice some subtle changes. I am not getting tired till around 4:30 p.m. now instead of between 2 and 3 and the lunchtime nap has been replaced by a walk. Last night I actually enjoyed cooking dinner for the first time in as long as I...

Re: My friend died... and it could have been prevented

I am so very sorry for all that you are going through. It is so hard to lose any loved one, particularly if we feel that death could have been prevented. I too.. along with all the animal rescue and fostering I do, my big passion in life.. will be doing all I can to raise awareness of sleep apnea in...

Re: British Social Medicine - Disaster

And just to clarify I don't mean the Affordable Healthcare Act. Sadly, that is a disaster. At first I supported it wholeheartedly thinking it was like the English system, as my husband and many of his workmates also did. But it goes nowhere near far enough and the drug and insurance companies still ...

Re: British Social Medicine - Disaster

It's okay. I understand. I am well versed with all of the opinions out there.. which to my mind is why the American people will never get a better deal. Please don't think I don't love America and Americans, I do. It actually is the reason that I get so upset about this issue, because I care about A...

Re: Resmed S9 Autoset auto cpap question...

The EPR is one of the biggest things I love about this machine. But then it is my first and I have not experienced others. I turned EPR up to 3 last night and loved it.
