Re: Homegrown battery packs for a Resmed S9

I bought the battery. It works very well with just the pump and a slimline hose and mask. It does not work at all with ClimateLine and the heated humidifier added. The first test used the full kit, humidifier and heated tube included. The pump shut down after the pressure adjusted past 8 cm or so. I...

Re: Homegrown battery packs for a Resmed S9

And what does kirchoff have to do with it? You get 12 volts from four Li-poly packs in series. But virtually identical units have been tried by a number of forum users with mixed results, just make sure you can return it after its been used. (Search for poweradd or 32000 for several other threads o...

Re: Homegrown battery packs for a Resmed S9

WRONG!!! A rhetorical coup de grace, to be sure. Keep persuading me like that, because it really works! (I've been using kirchoff's law for 30 years.) Anyway, you also supplied the data. If what I have to do is consider the "natural cell" voltage rather than the output of the battery pack in order ...

Re: Homegrown battery packs for a Resmed S9

This pack is probably 26 amp-hours X 3.6 volts (the cell voltage), or 94 Watt-hours. This is in line with the weight of the pack, and the 100 watt-hour limit for flying. Converting back to 12 Volts, we get around 8 Amp-hours. This will be enough to power a S9 at average pressure for about 10 hours,...

Re: Homegrown battery packs for a Resmed S9

No this will not power your device for any length of time. The battery you're showing is about. 31 kwh hours. This would relate to no more than 2 hours of power. Battery is 26 amp x 12 volt then divided by 1000. Gives you approx. 31 kwh. Your machine varies but I use. 08Kwh for my machine. Using 50...

Homegrown battery packs for a Resmed S9

Hi, I came across this today: https://stacksocial.com/sales/intocircuit-26000mah-power-castle-external-battery?aid=a-0m8ddxmy It is a 26 amp-hour 12-volt battery which appears to have the wattage necessary to support operation of at least the pump and perhaps an entire ClimateLine setup on an S9. If...

Re: Need replacement machine

Yup, I have an S7 Lightweight laying idle. It's older, but appears to work and has low (1513) hours. PM me if you're interested and we can make arrangements.

Re: ResMed S7 Lightweight for sale

$50 it is, then. Actually, at these levels, if there is anyone known to any reader here who has a need and can't afford it, please encourage them to speak up on this thread and I'm sure I can make arrangements for its delivery. (Secondwindcpap.com isn't buying the S7 Lightweight any longer.) Otherwi...

Swift FX mask and mouth breathing

I've been having 67 days of real success with auto-CPAP therapy, using a ResMed S9 AutoSet and their SwiftFX nasal mask. Occasionally, my mouth falls open during sleep, leaking air. It's a distracting feeling. Are the slits on the headgear for the SwiftFX useful for anchoring a chin strap? Are there...

ResMed S7 Lightweight for sale

This is going to sound a little cheesy, but it's true: When I mentioned to a fellow congregant at church that I was having a lot of success with CPAP therapy, she seized on it to ask me what to do with her husband's old one. He died a few years ago after entering an adult family home for palliative ...

Re: Please, please, help me pick one!

I ordered a full kit of stuff from CPAP.com with the S9 AutoSet at the center of it all. After two nights in use, I have to say I'm pretty impressed. I was very quickly able to find the information I needed to modify the settings; the person who set it up didn't enable a couple of comfort features. ...

Re: Please, please, help me pick one!

Get either the ResMed S9 AutoSet or the Phillips Respironics (PR) System One 60 Series Auto CPAP machine model 560. Software available is free and easy to use for either brand. So narrow your search to either the S9 or the PR S1...you won't be sorry with either. Get the heated hose option with eith...

I'd love to. Learning a price from Kaiser is kind of like bowling through a stage curtain.

Please, please, help me pick one!

Hi all, I've been responding very well to auto-CPAP therapy these last three weeks, and I'm told that my Kaiser provider has no problem with me purchasing something out of their network and will help me do it. I can't discern between the companies. By that I mean: is there any real difference betwee...

Re: Neck and Back Pain

Kaiser sent me some SwiftFX nasal pillows, and it has been very easy to rest since then. The pain is pretty much gone.
