Re: POLL: How do you feel using your xPAP?
I use my apap every night for the past three months and still am sleep during the day. When I awake in the morning, if I sit down in my living room chair there is an 80% chance of me going back to sleep (I'm retired). This is even after up to seven hours sleep. My numbers are good, even having a few...

Re: % of patients who do sleep studies NOT diagnosed with apnea
I had a home sleep study done in September of this year. It was a pulse oximetry test and I was diagnosed with mild apnea. I've read and been told on a couple of these forums that this was not the correct way to be diagnosed with sleep apnea. The doctor had to guess and assume in order to do so. Wou...

Re: Night-Time Oxymeter
Would this be something that would be useful during an in lab sleep study? I am having an in lab sleep study that is scheduled for February. I had a home sleep study that was done and diagnosed using such a product in September of this year. So I requested a re-test for more accurate results. So, wo...

Re: Dr. says I'm not tolerating CPAP
I've posted before regarding the problems I've been experiencing - congestion, sneezing, getting sick. My doctor finally decided I'm not tolerating CPAP. She recommended an oral appliance but at my last visit had said that was a last resort. She said something was better than nothing. I know my ins...

Re: Rainout with Sleepweaver Elan
Will most people experience rainout sooner or later? Not everyone experiences it. It's caused by a perfect storm set of various circumstances. Placing the machine lower than the mattress works well for helping reduce rain out in the hose because it allows gravity to help direct the condensation dow...

Re: Rainout with Sleepweaver Elan
Will most people experience rainout sooner or later? I was told by my doctor (pulmonologist) to put the machine at head level or slightly above, but have read here or on another forum that the machine should be below head level to prevent rainout. This is something I had never heard of before gettin...

Re: How to limit condensation when heated humidifier is needed
Is "rainout" a real concern for most people or is it a really individual thing? I am newly diagnosed and don't have any experience so am I worrying about something before it happens to me (if ever)?

Accepting diagnosis
I have been recently been diagnosed with sleep apnea and am having a hard time adjusting to the use of a machine to help me breath. I want to be sure I need to use a machine before I start to use one regularly. So I have questions that I would like to have answered. I had a home study done and the d...
