Re: APAP or Auto-trial
That is a really good idea that I hadn't thought of! The ramp doesn't really matter to me - it was just recommended by my doctor for comfort. I will try turning it off tonight!

Re: APAP or Auto-trial
Well guys, I've gotta say that APAP took a bit of getting used to but is working well so far. I tried setting the limits from 0 - 20, and for whatever reason I kept waking up at 4:30, feeling somehow well rested but just not enough. That somehow describes my condition even though it's a contradictio...

Re: APAP or Auto-trial
What does that scale measure? There were a couple scales with my new machine. Would somebody be able to confirm that I should gradually increase the maximum pressure from my prescription of 6? From reading online, the machine should only go up as high as it needs to. If I set the maximum to 20, it w...

Re: APAP or Auto-trial
Sooo, for those who are ocd enough, I made a spreadsheet. I would love to get your feedback. The yellow section is my only cause for concern. Does anybody know if the settings scale the same on CPAP/APAP machines if they are both System Ones?

Re: APAP or Auto-trial
Hi all, Thanks for your help. Regarding sleepyhead: I meant importing data from two machines into one profile. It sounds like Sleepyhead is OK with that, so I am too. Regarding last night's sleep... I went to bed at 10, asleep by probably 10:30, and I awoke at 4:30... My prescribed CPAP setting was ...

Re: APAP or Auto-trial
Follow up questions: the machine is locked using 15mm tubing and I cannot unlock it. All the previous tubing I have ever used is 22. The tubing this machine came with is identical to my old tubing. Is there an easy way to confirm whether the tubing is really 15 or 22? Also: is it possible to use two...

APAP or Auto-trial
Hello,
I just got a new Remstar Auto A Flex. I am used to normal straight CPAP procedures. I am eager to try the auto mode.
Should I jump right into APAP or is there some reason to use auto-trial?
Thanks!

Re: Sleepyhead, CPAP, APAP, and BIPAP
Would you guys recommend switching to an APAP if the price is reasonable? Are there likely any improvements to be gained?

I might be interested... could you confirm that the model is identical to this one?

Equipment Replacement - How Often
Hi there, I have a HDHP, so I pay for equipment out of pocket up until I hit $6,000. So, I am trying to make my equipment laaaaaaast. I know that masks and headgear degrade, eventually. My question relates to other stuff - respironics heated tubing, water reservoir. I take very good care of my equip...

Re: Sleepyhead, CPAP, APAP, and BIPAP
Thanks so much Pugsy... I really appreciate you taking the time to answer a question I am sure you have been asked before. Even people without the OSA diagnosis will have an occasional apnea event of some kind. It just happens. So an occasional random thing is not really a problem. The problem comes...

Re: Sleepyhead, CPAP, APAP, and BIPAP
Thanks very much Pugsy... I guess what is confusing me is that I am still having OAs, even though I am on therapy. I thought the purpose of CPAP therapy was to eliminate the apneas. Still, I will defer to your expertise!! To expect the machine to never record any apnea events is generally considered...
