Oscar Issue
I have a new windows HP 64 bit. I downloaded Oscar for these specs and it worked fora few days and then I got this: See the attached screen shot This screen which actually mispelled my first name has frozen Oscar from any farther use. I don't know what it is or how to get rid of it.

Re: A benedryl pattern -- AHI
I hate to rain on anyone's medication parade but benadryl along with doxepin and elavil type drugs have recently been implicated in alzheimer's. All anti cholinergic meds are now off the list for long term use because of this. But once in a while I guess is okay. I still take my doxepin.

Re: Cough Related to Apnoea
Is she taking lisinopril or any blood pressure medicine that is an ace inhibitor. This class of drugs can cause a nasty chronic hacking cough that won't go away. She should ask her doctor if her BP meds are causing her cough.

Re: Anybody just give up?
I hope you by now have reconsidered and are trying to get used to CPAP. You mentioned you are afraid of stroke. Have you also thought about dementia. In addition to stroke and heart failure, dementia is also associated with the drop in oxygen levels caused by sleep apnea.

Re: Doctor says sleep pill will mess up the test
This happened to me twenty years ago and because I did not sleep I was not prescribed a CPAP. I suffered heart issues as a result . Here in VT I had a recent sleep study and was prescribed Ambien for both nights and was given a cpap. I am better but still have the heart issues.

I soak mine in warm water and Ivory liquid once a week and use Control III in the water if I have had the flu or a cold.

Re: Sleep apnea & inflammatory markers..
I have had a high CRP for years and I chalked it up to obesity but looking back maybe it was sleep apnea. I have been on cpap for a year.
I'll ask my doctor to do another CRP and see if it went down.

Re: The eyes again
You can get special soft silicone eye covers made specifically for dry eye from CPAP. I have them and they work quite well. They are not tight against your orbits so you won't get marks or soreness. They should not be used if you corneal ulcers.

Life is a death sentence.
CPAP makes it more bearable and the descent slower.

Re: Need Advice-AirFit F10 Leaks!
My AirFit F 10 leaks too. You have to make sure you get a new mask cushion every month. The silicone gets floppy. Also make sure you change your head gear when it gets stretched out. I buy a new one at Amazon because my ins won't pay for every three months. Also pull it down a bit on your nose and t...

Re: What Happens If You Fail Compliance?
More concerning is the fact that you are not getting full treatment at 4 or less hours and the apneas are doing damage to your heart and brain. Sometimes we can let ourselves be intimidated by the mask and machine. I don't know how many masks or types of masks you have used but if you keep at it you...

Re: Throat closing at night still
No one has mentioned the 'C" word. Smokers should have regular mouth and throat exams to check for this. Go to a doctor, now!
