Re: FDA Oversight of CPAP
You are running on fear and superstition. How sad. I assume you think astrology is running our lives too. The FDA is set up for these issues. They need more power to make them right. Hopefully others wont be as scared as you are.

Re: Long-term cancer, etc. risks of CPAP?
Yes, I just posted something here about the FDA process with CPAP. Its entitled "FDA Oversight of CPAP" or you can read it here http://www.cpaptalk.com/viewtopic/t101400/FDA-Oversight-of-CPAP.html . Similarly I found that the DeVillbiss machnes use a large swatch of neoprene under their machines to ...

FDA Oversight of CPAP
When I had an issue with a machine or two, I called the FDA to ask what they know. In speaking with them, I found that while there is a CPAP department at the FDA, they do not actually have the funding to test machines to make sure they work as intended. Nor do they have the authority to tell a manu...

Re: Defective S9 Escape? Cant Turn Off EPR...I think
Thanks. Actually, I raised the pressure 0.5 higher and set the EPR to go down a maximum of 1 and it seems to work. Crazy huh.

Re: Defective S9 Escape? Cant Turn Off ERP....I think
Interesting. Thanks.
My pressure is 8 and I have had to set it at 8.5 with an ERP of 1 to make it work for me. With ERP off, it seems to dip lower. Maybe it is defective.

Re: Defective S9 Escape? Cant Turn Off ERP....I think
That is an option. I just want to see if others have experienced the same thing. I believe the change in pitch is a sign that the fan speed is changing (even though they tell you it shouldnt) and so the pressure is changing. Thanks for your response. Anyone else experience the issues I mentioned?

Re: Defective S9 Escape? Cant Turn Off ERP....I think
Hitting your head indeed. Thats because you keep focusing on the noise and not the airflow. I will say it again since you dont seem to get it. The noise doesnt bother me. It is however a sign of the functioning of the machine engine. Its not a matter of rights either. If the pressure was constant, t...

Re: Defective S9 Escape? Cant Turn Off ERP....I think
Pugsy, I am not just sensitive to the noise. The noise is not the problem; its a symptom of an altering fan speed. And no, I dont use a humidifier. I reference the older machine because the pressure was constant and the noise was constant. I bought a machine in the middle with cflex, which had the s...

Re: Defective S9 Escape? Cant Turn Off ERP....I think
Pugsy and Jasmin: I know how to set the machine. My point was that the last machine wasnt capable of ERP so it blew at a constant pressure, and I never had these problems...that started when I switched machines. Thats why I assume its the ERP that wont turn off. Jasmin...Done. The Saturn pic and oth...

Defective S9 Escape? Cant Turn Off EPR....I think
I used to use a Remstar Plus. It worked great but got damaged so I bought a new machine. Went with a Resmed S9 Escape. I turned off all the bells and whistles because I just want a continuous pressure of 8 going - the EPR doesn't work well with me. Even with it set properly, I can hear the pitch of ...
