Re: Help! Mask hurting front teeth.

I practiced with the pillows yesterday and found that the small size worked best. I don't have large and the medium would not seal and air was just blowing out. I put my chinstrap on, then the pillows, layer down and turned on. Everything seemed to be working. Bedtime and I put everything back on an...

Re: Help! Mask hurting front teeth.

My PT's husband delivered nasal pillows that I thought would be the answer. It didn't stay on my head and I felt I wasn't getting enough air. I too have problems with my teeth. I switch back & forth between a nasal mask (Comfortgel Blue) and nasal pillows (Swift FX). The nasal pillows work great fo...

Re: Help! Mask hurting front teeth.

You may need to wear some kind of retainer at night. I didn't know about this 14 years ago & I am undergoing expensive dental work now that includes braces. I should have been told by my dentist at that time (or figured it out myself) that pain=teeth probably moving. You may want to call around den...

Re: Help! Mask hurting front teeth.

Hi 49er,
No replies on either forum.
I just sent a PM to sleep dent on the other forum.

It may be the TMJ rearing it's ugly head in a new way. I'll wear my mouth guard tonight because I don't know what else to do.

Thanks for your replies

Re: Irregular heart beat when using certain masks

Hi DoriC Sorry I didn't reply sooner. I don't have it set up to notify me when my post gets replied to. And I think I was so discouraged I had to take a break from thinking about it. My pressure range is 5-11. EPR is on full time Ramp is off Humidity is 2.5 My sleep hours vary from 6-9 I had my GB r...

Re: Help! Mask hurting front teeth.

Thanks for your reply 49er. I have posted my post on the forum you linked to. I am a member there as well. My experience with a FFM was to be given one by my first RT (no other options were offered and I didn't know any better at the time). I could not make it through the first two nights of treatme...

Help! Mask hurting front teeth.

I am desparate for help and don't know where to turn. I am still trying to find a mask that works and doesn't hurt. With that in mind I have been using the Sleepweaver Élan for the past several weeks. (This is a mask my sleep dr gave me after I begged for her help. I did not have a titration study a...

Re: Homemade chin strap - SUCCESS!

Thanks so much for the video! (and the pattern)

I guess your chinstrap version is what I need to try now since my strap connected to a ball cap didn't work too well for me.

Forgot to ask...I don't think I'm going to like the strap over my ears so I may try to change that somehow.

Re: Great video on making a homemake chin strap by a sleep doc

I did not attempt to sew the Velcro to the hat because I just never got to it and then near bedtime I noticed it was still secure. I did stick another square of Velcro higher up on the hat in an effort to make the strap tighter. I then had a small mental crisis thinking I might have to wear a damn b...

Thanks for sharing your experiences and I'm sorry you've been through so much.

Re: Great video on making a homemake chin strap by a sleep doc

My homemade cap chinstrap made it through the night but I'll be making some adjustments today. My husband said he heard me mouth breathing a couple times and from the way my tummy feels this morning, it was more than a couple times. I will probably adjust the Velcro tighter and sew it on. I was awar...

Re: Great video on making a homemake chin strap by a sleep doc

I just made a version of this. Cut the bill off the hat and am using the bottom part of a commercial chin strap (that didn't work for me because it was too big and had hard plastic "loops"). The strap already has Velcro securely sewn on and I stuck the opposite Velcro on the hat with its adhesive. I...

Re: Irregular heart beat when using certain masks

Not a Dr. TH ~ thank you for your insight. You're probably right about the coincidence. I've done the Holder monitor. It's been several years and my dr said everything looked good, even though I've felt some weird heart goings-on since I was a kid. Maybe it's time to do it again while I have fantast...

Re: Irregular heart beat when using certain masks

I just emailed Karen about liners for Sleepweaver masks, so we'll see what she suggests. I have tried a full face mask (resmed product that I don't even care to go find the name of. This was given to me by a worthless RT) Resmed nasal pillows that I didnt feel I was getting enough air from and would...
