Re: New User Looking For Help
I am having a hard time reading the numbers and seeing the images...a bit small for my eyes. I even clicked on it in hopes to increase the size and I can't. After clicking on the image, it will open a new page at photobucket.com. Click on the magnifying glass on the bottom right corner of the image...

Re: Severe Apnea under control but still tired
? I don't know. When I got divorced in 92 my weight shot up 70 pounds, I started to snore. I had some anxiety attacks. A sleep study I had 10 years ago came up negative--I believe this was a bad study now. The one I had recently was severe. Doctor said I had sleep Apnea all my life to register this...

Re: Severe Apnea under control but still tired
My situation is almost identical to yours. My untreated AHI was 60 and now it is less than 1. In my case I felt pretty normal in May 2012 and by June 2012 I sometimes got lost when driving around familiar areas. I have probably had SA for many years if snoring is any indication, so why would it affe...

Re: ADP changes to CPAP in Ontario
OHIP's ADP program does not differentiate between the various models of cpaps. It would appear that ADP only classifies machines by category (CPAP, BIPAP,APAP). I think you have the right to choose whatever model you want within the category. I was prescribed a CPAP machine, but I wanted to purchas...

Re: CMS 50E
It is important to use the cable that came with your device, a standard USB cable will not work. Assuming you have already successfully recorded something into the memory of the CMS50E, this old post may help you extract the data onto your PC. http://www.cpaptalk.com/viewtopic/t75011/viewtopic.php?f...

Re: Flow Limit Scoring in ResScan
The SleepyHead graph is exactly the same as the Resmed graph except for the labels on the vertical axis. Perhaps these images will help make this point. Both graphs are for the same period on February 17. The only difference I notice are the lines that reach the midway point of the Rescan graph (e....

Re: Help me understand individual breaths
Your FL graph certainly is quite messy. The section you zoomed in on in your earlier post didn't even reach the first line. You will probably see flattened peaks on your flow graphs if you examine them at a point that coincides with large peaks on the FL graph. I have found a few bugs with SleepyHea...

Re: Help me understand individual breaths
Seth, it is hard to get an idea of how severe your Flow Limitations are when the graph is zoomed in on such a short period of time. FL's normally show up as a flattened peak on the inhalation part of the Flow Graph. Your flow graph does not have much of a flattened peak , and your FL graph also indi...

Re: Help me understand individual breaths
Seth, back on page #1 of this thread I mentioned that your Flow graph looked a lot like mine, and that I had a lot of Flow Limitations. You mentioned your Flow Limitations graph looked "nasty" as well. I think FL's are the cause of your ragged Flow graph. It would be interesting to see your FL graph...

Re: Help me understand individual breaths
Here is a closer look at just the inspiratory portion of typical relaxed breaths while asleep and using CPAP. https://scontent-a-iad.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-prn1/t1/1017623_10203195520834100_1489415058_n.jpg I feel totally unqualified to evaluate. I am certainly not qualified either, just another pers...

Re: Help me understand individual breaths
So, is my therapy good enough? I have moved on from a concern about AHI to a concern about the shape of my flow curve. Here is a typical flow curve when I am sleeping well: Seth, I think you need to zoom in closer to see the details of your flow graph. You can go into the Rescan Tools menu, and the...

Re: Help me understand individual breaths
The question is, does a xPAP machine always produce positive airflow. Unless there's an aggressive exhalation, I would say generally not, and I suppose one could hook up the TSI 4040 and get a readout that's significantly more accurate than the CPAP Flow and know precisely, but in the big scheme of...

Re: Help me understand individual breaths
Perhaps the recorded data for the wave flow data is "actual flow rate - intentional leak rate" and Sleepy head shows the recorded data while ResScan adds the intentional leak rate back to the recorded data before displaying the wave form graph. The question is, does a xPAP machine always produce po...

Re: Help me understand individual breaths
It would appear that Sleepyhead subtracts "Intentional Leak", which, in ResScan, is already accounted for. That may be the reason. In SleepyHead there is an option to select the mask type, along with a note saying "Leak Profiles Currently Does Not Work Yet". I can't see any options in Rescan to sel...

Re: Help me understand individual breaths
Almost all below zero. ??? SleepyHead does not show the same "0" crossing as Rescan. Even the total swing is about 70 on Rescan and about 90 on SleepyHead. At least the shapes are similar. Here are my personal waveform as shown on both programs. https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-deHpv0d4viM/Uo5H1x...
