Re: Idiopathic CSA on ASV & sudden O₂ drops – ring glitch or body freak‑out?
Night 2 (Dec 11) was almost back to normal: average SpO₂ 96 %, only 37 seconds under 90 %, but still 77 drops over 3 %, when historically I ALWAYS have under 10. How do you grade your day of December 11? Energetic? Any excess sleepiness? At bedtime on the 11th - fatigued but not stressed? Same ques...

Idiopathic CSA on ASV & sudden O₂ drops – ring glitch or body freak‑out?
Hey folks, I’m hoping the hive mind can help make sense of a couple of odd nights. I’m a 42‑year‑old guy with idiopathic central sleep apnea. I’ve been on a ASV(resmed) for about a dozen years and generally run an AHI near zero with barely any leak. I also wear a Wellue O2Ring every night to check m...

Re: Feeling short of breath while turning over in bed.
I’ve been using a CPap machine now for about 4 1/2 years. For about the past three years, when turning over in bed, I feel short of breath. I open my mouth to exhale once or twice and then I’m fine. This does not happen every time I turn over. This had me very concerned. I have had cardiac tests do...

Re: Periodic breathing and the Keto diet
After my first night on CPAP for obstructive sleep apnea, just over 10 years ago, my machine read 60% periodic breathing. After googling the term, I called my sleep doctor in a panic. He told me not to worry. I was 57 years old and only about 1,000 feet above sea level with no known heart problems,...

Resmed Randomly Shutting Off at Night
Hey fellow CPAP users, I hope you're all doing well! I'm reaching out with a rather perplexing issue I've experienced a few times lately with my Resmed Aircurve machine. I bought this unit earlier this year 2nd hand. Based on the serial number, it is a 2016 machine, but had very low hours when I bou...

ASV User: Need help with a troubling ongoing issue I cannot resolve
I would like to seek advice from the forum regarding an issue that has been recurring intermittently throughout my years on therapy. Despite consulting my sleep doctor multiple times, we haven't been able to identify the cause. Here's some background information: I have been a member of this forum f...

Re: Bilevel and anesthesia
The professionals in charge will take care of everything. You are allowing your anxiety to be in control. Please do not do that. You're right. I'm a very anxious person. I'm just scared is all. I can understand why you'd be scared. Keep in mind, anesthesiologists work on people who have sleep apnea...

Re: Help! According to your experienece: does the Evora FFM seal better than the Dreamstation and the F30 masks ?
I haven't tried the Evora. I briefly used the Resmed F30, which looks very similar to the evoraic. The F30 worked fine but as someone who only sleeps on their side, the front protruding tube connection would sometimes get in the way and jam against the pillow. I switched to the F30i, and found I lik...

Re: Gave up coffee...wow!
Drinking a couple cups of coffee in the morning shouldn't have much if any impact on sleeping at night. Perhaps true for the average healthy adult. But some people are especially sensitive to such substances and find sleep benefits and awake benefits from total abstinence or from a temporary break ...

Interesting...
Drinking a couple cups of coffee in the morning shouldn't have much if any impact on sleeping at night. But good on you, even if it's placebo.

Re: Seeking guidance on transferring machine settings from Respironics to Resmed
Another observation: Despite matching the pressure minimums on both devices at 4, as soon as the Dreamstation turns on it goes immediately to 8. It actually goes from 8 on the "E" to 12 on the "I" which I assume to mean inhale and exhale. The Resmed starts at 4. To me it seems that despite the setti...

Re: Seeking guidance on transferring machine settings from Respironics to Resmed
Start with just copying over the Respironics setting to the ResMed whichever ones you have available. These are the basics. Keep the mode the same. Keep the minimum EPAP the same Keep the maximum EPAP (if in auto mode) the same PS...pressure support....keep the minimum and max the same Max IPAP...k...

Re: Seeking guidance on transferring machine settings from Respironics to Resmed
If you TOLD us something, then we could help you. Like, what *exactly* were your old settings? Feeling a little snarky tonight eh? My ask is around what the typical protocol is when migrating settings. Is there a user created guide that anyone has put together? Does setting X on Respironics exactly...
