Feel slightly better this morning, despite being aware of waking fully at 4:30 am.
This whole process can be very confounding.

Re: New mask, low AHI but apnea symptoms returning.
Ok - here are the past 3 out of 4 nights I spent with the Mirage - so I only left out the first night I used it. For comparison and contrast I also included Friday night 1/10, the last night I used the Elan, because Saturday was the best I've felt in quite awhile. http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e...

Re: New mask, low AHI but apnea symptoms returning.
I will post some graphs as soon as I get a chance. Can you tell me specifically what information should be showing in the images? I do wake frequently during the night - typically at least 4 times that I'm aware of - to varying levels of consciousness. I always have, even before my apnea became seve...

New mask, low AHI but apnea symptoms returning.
So, I've mentioned in other threads that I find my new Mirage FX to be very comfortable and easy to sleep with. I've spent 4 nights with it, and I've been waking up pretty tired while not being aware of my sleep being disturbed any more than usual. I figured I hadn't been sleeping as well as I thoug...

Re: CPAP Basics - 19 - Cleaning and Disinfecting
Baby shampoo is safe to use on all equipment except fabric masks, like Sleepweaver Advance, and Elan. For best results, avoid any product with fragrance, antibacterial additives, or a conditioner. Ok. Having been using the Elan previously, that's probably where I got the idea that baby shampoo is b...

I thought I had read not to use baby shampoo somewhere on here...

Re: Help me choose a new mask
Hi AmyBeth, The first question I have for you is - Don't you have health insurance? Why are you paying out of pocket for this stuff? I'm still relatively new at this, ~3 months in, but if there's one thing I've learned it's that there are as many different preferences for masks as there are shapes o...

Re: New guy, new mask, new problems...
Thanks for the replies. So, I was able to get the Elan working for me again - I don't think the hot water wash made any difference. What I ended up doing was loosening the lower straps and tightening the upper ones, since the leaks always happened at the top. Still, despite the comfort of that mask,...

Re: CPAP Basics - 19 - Cleaning and Disinfecting
Trying to figure out what soap to use to clean my mask, probably should've read this before going out and buying something. The manufacturer says to use "pure soap", but it's hard to figure out what that means when reading the ingredients in a soap. Same thing applies to the description "plain dish ...

Re: Getting my first Mask
Re: the Elan - I used it for 3 months and just recently replaced it with a Mirage FX, which is a standard nasal mask. The Elan is very comfortable, particularly for a side sleeper such as myself. There were nights when I would wake up and not even be sure I was still wearing it, it's that light and ...

side sleeper mask dilemma
Hi all - I'm back. It's been a rough 2 1/2 months. I had the Sleepweaver Elan working pretty well for me for a little while, but over time it became less and less able to stay sealed. It got to the point where it would keep me awake all night - having "blow outs" and then fussing with it to try to g...

Re: How do you clean your Sleepweaver Elan?
I put the head gear and mask, still attached to each other, in the washer this morning - hand wash cycle with a bit of Woolite. I'll hang them to dry in the small room where my boiler/hot water heater is - always makes short work of drying fabrics. I really think the hand wash cycle in my front load...

Re: How do you clean your Sleepweaver Elan?
Thanks. I bought some Woolite. Still thinking about putting the mask and headgear in the machine. It's a front-loader, which has no agitator, so is much gentler than a top loader. The real reason I'm so resistant to hand washing is that first I'd have to clean my sink! lol But cleaning the sink and ...
