Re: Oh man I can't stand this thing!!!

Oh yeah been there! There were many nights I wanted to throw the mask against the wall. You just have to keep at it. Maybe talk to your DME or RT. They maybe able to help. Like everyone says, you gotta keep at it. Good luck!

Is this in ObamaCare?

I couldn't find amendments here. Both sites have the full text of the law, which consists of one whole paragraph. Maybe you can find it and post it!

I read the summary. I didn't find anything banning females from getting treatment for sleep apnea.

Re: OT: Sharing our hobbies

I was going to say "I play video games" but that sounds kind of lame next to mountain climbing. I have a massive fear of heights though, so I'd never be able to do anything like that. Just thinking of the first 10 minutes of Cliffhanger makes my hands sweat. I also have a podcast, that's sort of a ...

Re: Full Face Mask Suggestion

My Mirage Quatro works great. It does bleed air into my mouth a little bit but that is okay. I had a nasal mask for my titration study, that was uncomfortable. She gave me a full face mask and I use it now. It also does a great job at expelling CO2.

I have a Quatro Mirage and my paperwork said to use Ivory dish soap. I only clean the mask and if the straps get wet, so be it.

Re: Ugh!!! Keeps blowing in my eye!!

I had that happen to me ALOT the first month. I spent the first month with the mask on wrong. The visiting nurse had it right the first time but I screwed it up. It wasn't until I joined this community that I realized my mistake and have since corrected it. You might want to google your mask and see...

Re: OT: Sharing our hobbies

I am sorry I do not have a talent like painting, it does look like fun but I wouldn't know where or how to start. My work schedule doesn't allow me to pursue to many hobbies. But I do like to golf and take walks with my wife. My daughter and I would try new things together. Being blind in one eye ma...

Re: I can't do it!

Yes you can! Now is not the time to quit! If you have a ramp feature try using that. I use mine every night. It helps me calm down, I read for a few minutes while it ramps up and I get used to the pressure. It sounds like a crutch, but I couldn't tolerate the full on pressure. Talk to your insurance...

I am new to all of this also! I wish you luck and hope that the nights get better. I was told it could take up to two weeks before I would feel "normal"! It does take some adjusting for us, but the beneies far outweigh the cons! Give yourself some time to adjust.

Re: Where A CPAP Newbie Should Start

Thank you for the first post. I am starting out with my CPAP machine, I have one month in today! (I have to send my SD card in tomorrow!) Before I had my sleep study, I was sitting with an OT and we were discussing my leg strain. He asked if there was anything else. I found myself telling him about ...
