Re: Ideal Protien Diet - weight loss and Sleep Apnea

The Ideal Protein diet may not be for everyone. That being said, my wife and I started on the diet 3 months ago at our doctor's recommendation. After two months we asked to have a full fasting blood test done. I've been diabetic (Type 2) for 12 years and my wife has been the same for 3 years. Both o...

Re: Medical Patient Portals

Several of my doctors's offices / practices provide a "patient portal". Four of them belong to the same practice so that is convenient. I also have one doctor whose practice has a completely different portal -- that is not as good as the other portal. However, in both cases, this is still a one way ...

Re: Arrrgh! As if CPAP wasn't enough, now I'm on a heart monit

I did one of these heart monitors for 3 weeks about a year ago. After I broke the plastic loop on the top of the monitor, I put in it a badge holder - similar to what you can find at the airport for holding your airline tickets. After attempting to get more than one day's usage out of the batteries ...

Re: OT - Handicap Parking

I would like to share a story with a different perspective. First, the environment: My employer, not a retail business, owned the building and the parking garage and there were no other businesses withing a 1/2 mile. The parking garage was multi-story with many handicapped places on the first and se...

Re: Newbie) 5 Days to go before I get my BiPAP, ?Recommendations

You didn't get the heated hose attachment or special power supply? It may not be a critical need but it can be bought online for $75 for everything or often insurance will pay for it if you push the DME. If you live in a cool climate or prefer cooler bedroom temperatures then you may find that the ...

DoriC,

After the ramp up - 10 to 15 for the pressure. A "soft gentle breeze".

Thanks for asking.

Re: Newbie) 5 Days to go before I get my BiPAP, ?Recommendations

Tonight will be the end of my first week on a BIPAP. I've had two sleep studies, both were done after spending time in a hospital with breathing problems and also receiving treatment for my Mysthenia Gravis (a autoimmune disease that affects muscles). The first one was a disaster and a waste of time...

My mask liners came today. I ordered two just because of the lavish praise that I've read. I look forward to trying one out tonight.

Re: Newbie) 5 Days to go before I get my BiPAP, ?Recommendations

My equipment was delivered today. I have a Respironics PR System One 60 series BIPAP model 760. I did not get the heated humidifier or hose but I did get the Quattro FX full face mask. Since I'll also remain on Oxygen, because I saw that some Ox Generators support long (50') delivery tubes, I was ab...

Newbie) 5 Days to go before I get my BiPAP, ?Recommendations

While I understand that the main emphasis here is for CPAP, I am looking for recommendations on BIPAP machines. My pulmonary doctor has sent a Rx to a local provider and I've been told to expect something within 5 days. He has not specified a particular machine. I live near Dallas, Tx and expect tha...
