Re: Mouth breathing back sleeper needs guidance
Julie said "I also sleep on my stomach but have cut a big chunk out of my mem. foam mattress into which my mask dips diagonally and so saves my neck from trouble." I am curious about that. Does that mean she sleeps totally prone on her stomach with arms to side and no pillows for her head?

Re: Mouth breathing back sleeper needs guidance
Julie said that the cervical collar would keep the head from falling forward which may help the AHI. Does this mean that one might have fewer apnea problems if they were to sleep on their back with no pillow?

Mouth breathing back sleeper needs guidance
I've been on CPAP 9 months. Nose pillows did not work due to the fact I am largely a mouth breather. A full face mask appeared to work very well, provided I slept on my side. I was recently diagnosed with rather debilitating tendonitis in both shoulders. The doctor told me it was from sleeping on my...

Need advice as to what to try next
I have been on CPAP for over six months. I started with nose pillows, but because I am a mouth breather found that did not work. I switched to a Quattro Air FFM and found that AHI was high when sleeping on back, but quite good when on side (average about 2.5 AHI//hr at pressure eight). After six mon...

Sleepyhead says pressure lower than machine setting
I have recently noticed a significant increase in my AHI. I have tried to lower it by increasing my machine pressure, but that does not seem to help. I checked my Sleepyhead data today and discovered that even while I have the CPAP machine set to a pressure of 11, the Sleepyhead data shows the press...

Suggestions for prolonging life of silicone on masks
I would like suggestions to prolong the life of the soft silicon found on face masks. My DME says it should be replaced monthly, but at $140 for my ResMed Quattro Air, that would get rather expensive. I assume the mask should be washed daily and allowed to air dry. One person told me they wash their...

No CPAP supplies from Medicare?
Today I was told by both my apnea doctor and by a DME that Medicare no longer provides CPAP supplies. This was news to me. Has anybody else experienced this?

Mouth gag works to stop apneas?
I have been on CPAP only a short time, trying to figure out what is going to work for me. I am using nasal pillows but they do not work well as I am a mouth breather much of the time. (Note that I also used a full face mask in a sleep study, but my mouth worked so much I did not get a good seal). I ...
