Best way to sterilize nasal pillow
I am helping a friend new to cpap find a mask that works for her, DME won't let her swap for a third mask after no luck with Eson and Swift fx. I have a slightly used swift nano she wants to try before purchasing on her own. Any suggestions on best way to sterilize? I was going to boil for 5 minutes...

Re: AirFit P10 question
The letter on the pillow should be facing down. What makes this mask so comfortable is that it barely touches your face. I have a gap of a finger width between my lip and the mask, and leaks are significantly lower than with the Swift FX or Nano.

FYI - heard from HDM that they are awaiting FDA approval on an auto version of the Z1.

Yes, you can interchange headgear. I also have used the Bella loops with both the Swift FX and Swift FX Nano.

Re: Your experience with Lincare Healthcare?
Hoosiergirl - my Mom has had exactly the same experience recently with Lincare in Northwest Indiana. To their credit, they did take back the first machine she received (a brick) and mask with no problem and give her a resmed S9 auto and better mask. However, they have not returned calls etc when she...

Re: Rape topic?
One benefit of this thread is that it made me realize that I was too trusting in going in for a sleep study. The following link from the American Academy of Sleep Medicine will assist anyone concerned in finding an accredited sleep center, and also provides a means for filing a complaint.... http://...

Medicare and Lincare Charges
My mom started on cpap in November. She only has Medicare and is using Lincare as a DME. So far she has not received any bills from Lincare for the machine or the mask. Does that sound right? She is frustrated by Lincare because they never call her back and have not followed up with replacement supp...

Re: New Z1 cpap machine. Smallest, lightest, and battery too
Z1 users, is it difficult to adjust to the fixed pressure of the Z1 after using the variable pressure of the S9? Also, did you need a new script indicating a fixed pressure to purchase the Z1?

Re: Rotating between Nasal Pillows and Nasal Mask
I switch off between the Swift fx and the Swift Nano. If congested, the Nano works better for me. I also use the Bella Loops with the Nano.

Re: Resmed FX Nano for her
I switch off between the Nano and Swift fx, and typically use the Bella Loops for both. If I am really congested, then the nano works better for me.

Transcend or Z1 for travel?
Hi - I am considering purchasing a machine to be used exclusively for travel (plane and car). My primary considerations are minimum space, light weight and easy set up. I have travelled with the S9, but have also forgotten to pack it, or not taken out of bag on an overnight trip, etc. The Z1 looks i...

Re: OT - Southwest Airlines & CPAP (Boarding & Stowing)
You will not have a problem flying southwest. I used a SW "buddy pass" recently, which meant I was standby and literally the last passenger on the plane if there was a seat. The cpap bag was easy to stow in the overhead compartment and I placed my laptop and carry on bag under the seat. If questione...

Help with Cheeks Puffing Out
My 79 year old Mom just started on cpap a few weeks ago. As an old pro of three months, have been able to solve both our problems so far thanks to this forum. She has a Resmed S9 autoset, and is using the Nano mask. The doctor prescribed a pressure of 5-14, however we have adjusted. She is a severe ...

Re: S9 Stops and Starts - Update
Met with DME and he read data. Since I was within 7 days of 60 day compliance period, DME wanted me to keep the machine for 7 more days and get at least 3 nights of 4 hours before giving me a new machine. He did give me a new mask to try, the Swift NANO, at no charge. LOL - seems to have worked as I...
