Re: Newly diagnosed with apnea, just got my cpap, minor problems
I tried 5 other masks before the Quattro. Everyone had significant leak and discomfort issues. My first night with the Quattro was like my first night on ASV. Perfect. In a year over two machines and the bipap was set to the full 25cmH2O on inhale the Qattro never has even acted like it wanted to le...

Re: Going under Anesthesia while having Central sleep apnea.
Without ASV I can have over 200 central apnea attacks per night on a regular basis. That said I am home recovering from an ojtpatient proceedure. Out of curiosity figured up have had 14 general anesthesia proceedures this year. On average I have 8 to 10 surgeries per year and the centrals have never...

Re: Confused re: CPAP Prescription in Canada
Way it worked for me (and how I have been told is it is supposed to) is a doctor sends the patient to the lab. Without the doctors orders you are not supposed to have a study. After doctor writes a script for the study the lab sends the results back fo the doctor who writes the prescription for the ...

Re: New Machine Reccomendations
I just finished night 10 of my ASV treatment. All is still doing well as my comfort level has increased all around and my numbers have stabilized. My average AHI has continued to slowly slip down and my 10 day average is now down to 9.7. That is a far cry from weekly averages in the 50 to 70 to 90 a...

Re: New Machine Reccomendations
Do ASV machines "learn"? I am a week into my 960 and my graph of daily numbers is slowly trending down. My average AHI has now dropped to 9 and each day my AHI falls a few more decimal points. It is currently set with.ipap and epap.at minimum 10 and maximum 25 with pressure support of 6.

Re: Struggling with cpap for eight months now
Took me almost three years, three DME's and four doctors to work all the bugs before I felt comfortable with my therapy. It was a lot of work but the end result has become stunning.

Re: Walmart and personal control
I am going to assume that your insurance company is requiring you to buy "in network" instead of from their approved vendors. While mostly the same idea, it actually means you can buy from any company in which they have a contract with. Many of these companies will be quite large with multiple locat...

Re: New Machine Reccomendations
49er, I doubt the doctors that kicked me out of their programs are going to see me personally but I do know how to get my information in front of them. The doctor that originally referred me to them is actually more upset about them kicking me to the curb than I am. He gets weekly updates on how my ...

Re: CPAP machine with LCD
For most people the issue is not whether they are willing to pay the price difference, will their insurance company pay it? Since the only info most insurance companies want is compliance to make sure the patient is using the machine, I doubt they will pay the difference for a little added convienen...

Re: New Machine Reccomendations
Pugsy, I found that one but as you say, not the most complete info for how to use the software. I have printed up all of your tips and implemented them. What my main questions I wanted to look up was the proper way to set up a new patient and whether or not I should import my data for the last two y...

Re: BCBS won't pay for Bi-pap
Currently for my wife and I we pay 2,100 per month for our plan. I have pay first 1,000 out of pocket then they pay 70% till I reach my maximum out of pocket of 2,500. I had been in my plan for about 5 years when I met my wife. Dated 18 months and then we sealed the deal. The first thing I did was a...

Re: New Machine Reccomendations
I now have Respironics Encore Pro 2 Version 2.12.7.0 installed on my computer. It is not a very intuitive piece of software and I cannot find the instructions other than the help files. I have searched the Respironics web site and Google searched the heck out of it. There has to be a pdf technicians...
