Sleepyhead / First CPAP night question
Hi guys, Just did my first night. Used sleepyhead this morning. I was diagnosed with 7 events hr and 17 in REM in my lab study; had an AHI of 1 yesterday! Pressure at 8, fixed. Since my lab study was a little bit inconclusive (slept 4hrs in all), I want to know if theres a way for me to know what WO...

Re: Update Please give feedback on study / Sleep study failure
...do you believe that my symptoms (see below) could be relieved by CPAP, especially that 6.7/hr is considered borderline...??!! Thanks, just looking for feedback! I agree with what was already said about you don't know what it might look like if you had a full night's sleep with more REM. With you...

Re: Updates: Please give initial feedback/ Sleep study failure
please read most recent post : UPDATE: Guys, went for a 2nd study. ALSO slept like 3 hrs so they didn't titrate me (it was a split study). The report should be in TODAY but they still told me some details on the phone: 6,7 events per hour, 17 per hour when in REM, and lowest oxygen 85%. Just knowing...

Re: Updates: Please give initial feedback/ Sleep study failure
details:
REM sleep time 10.3%.
Apnea and Hyp. are 2.9/hr, but if we add events from upper resistance, it goes to 6.7/hr.

Average O of 94.6%, minimum of 85%. BUT only 0.1% of the time below 90%.

Re: Older but not ready to be put out to pasture
At every doctors' office I have ever been to, the appointments are called in the order they are written down on the schedule page. If you don't want people to get in ahead of you, don't arrive so early! (but don't be late) (edit) Note: if you suspect people with later appointments are being called ...

Re: Older but not ready to be put out to pasture
We all have our perceptions. My little story: I was waiting at the Dr.'s office today, 10am appointment. AT LEAST 6 60+old gentleman passed in front of me (im near 30 y old), most probably because the receptionnist felt like they ''deserved'' it more, and me the ''young guy'' can certainly wait....W...

Re: Sleep study failure
Question; i seem to have symptoms of low oxygen, but maybe not from apnea (more from nasal congestion and deviated septum).
Could they still recommend cpap? Would that be "uars"?
Thanks
Ps i have to wait 10 days to maybe have results, so ill have questions like that..

Re: Sleep study failure
for mine, the tech said he couldn't give me any info that night ( had a split study with titration the same night), yet they faxed the prescription to a DME not of my choice. (i was mad about that but I did get the CPAP about a week after the sleep study {i made the appt-I with the DME -didn't wait...

Re: Sleep study failure
I never said to go cold turkey! But what's stopping you from cutting back slowly? GERD (acid reflux) can be 'silent', disturbing your sleep like mad but not waking you. Do you take anything for it? Even a Tums before bed? I can't really take less than 25mg a day, it's actually the smallest dose (50...

Re: Sleep study failure
