Re: Sleep apnea excercises

I would like to try the exercises but was not able to find it online. Could you give me a link. I also want to start other therapies because I want to find the reason. I use mushroom tincture outside on my throat for inflammation and will start bee venom. Also oxygen therapy can help with swelling. ...

Re: Bacteria/Sleep Apnea?

Lazer, you are right that bacteria can destroy the muscles and the nerves causing sleep apnea. I am trying to find out the cause as I am not willing to live with the machine forever. We are not born with the apnea, something must have happened. I started different treatments. Please pm me if you wan...

Re: Question on EPR

Sorry, cannot understand it. The EPR is only exhale. The incoming pressure would be still without EPR? The airways would stay open because of the incoming air. Even with EPR on 3 the graph showed the higher pressure level, so I thought this would be ok.

Re: S9 autoset HH Tempature setting ?

Is 79 the temperature setting? I can only tolerate 61. Generally I like hot weather but the air in the tube is very warm even at 61.
I wonder if my machine has an error.

Re: bad headache - after 8 hours cpap

kteague, what would be the problem with a pressure of 4? I had the pressure limited to 7, so I was most of the time on about 6. My sleepyhead data of this night is posted on 08-26. I think it looked good, AHI of 0.78. Maybe the headgear? The headache was all over and changed every day for 5 days now...

bad headache - after 8 hours cpap

My first full night on cpap was ok, I could sleep and got along well with the mask.
But the next day I was very weak and got bad headache. After 3 days it is not over. ( I was sleeping without cpap the last nights to recover).
Did anyone else react with headache?

Re: first night - updated sleepyhead data

My doctor said: if the machine goes to 15, I need 15. And no EPR on! I should use the machine at daytime for 15 min, 30 min to get used to it. I used the machine this night on 6 max, everything was good but in the morning I felt week, kind of dizzy and had the feeling I got too much air. http://s18....

Re: first night - was not able to exhale

Thank you all so much for your advice and experiences. Oak, I had no insomnia prior to CPAP. Stormynights, sure I'll inform my doctor but I am also sure all posts are very informative and necessary for me. Pugsy, I will follow your advice tonight and we see tomorrow what sleepyhead has to show. I th...

Re: first night - was not able to exhale

Here the data of the sleepyhead from last night.
The machine was limited to max 10.0.
I was always fully awake. The air was too much for me to fall asleep. I took off the mask at 1.20 after about one hour.

Re: first night - was not able to exhale

Checked it again - it is on auto mode. And again it went to 12.2 when I was awake and even when I was sitting or standing. I have no explanation. I plan on reducing the max pressure to 12 ( minus EPR it is then 9) for the night and read the data tomorrow. Either the machine has a problem or there is...

Re: first night - was not able to exhale

I was for a sleep study but they have not tested a machine or a mask. My machine is on auto set, is that the APAP? Prescription is for 4 -15 and current setting is 4-15. Ramp 5 min. I turned EPR on on my machine, but it was not disabled although the prescription said EPR off. After the first 5 minut...

Re: first night - was not able to exhale

I tried it now for 20 minutes with the EPR on 3. The EPR helped a lot but the pressure started with 4.0 and constantly went up to already 12.2 after several minutes. It did not go down when I was sitting. You think it is a mistake in programming? We downloaded the program. Not sure if I can be on 14...

Re: first night - was not able to exhale

I was not sleeping at all, no event. The pressure went from 4.0 continuously higher to 14.9 and never down - only when I shut off the machine. I tried it over several hours. Even when I got up and was standing or sitting it only went back to 11.0. But the mask fitting symbol was green. I will try it...

Re: first night - was not able to exhale

Thank you for the explanations. I have trouble exhaling because the incoming air is too strong. I have to make serious efforts to exhale and I cannot sleep. It is for me like I have to inflate a balloon. But no feeling of suffocating. But my muscles get tired after a while and I have to take the mas...
