To update this thread, the most recent shipment of batteries that we received from Owell now carry a label stating that they are Lithium Polymer construction. We offered to exchange one of these new batteries for the unit that was shipped to the original poster of this thread, but have not yet heard...

I was not aware that LiPo batteries had been cleared for air travel, due to the risk of spontaneous explosion.
