Resmed S9 Auto CPAP machine for sale
I was dx'd with Mixed Apnea in 2012. At first I was put on a Resmed S9 Auto CPAP (now on a VPAP Adapt bilevel machine). As such I have a Resmed S9 Auto CPAP machine I no longer use which I'm happy to sell affordably to someone in Australia. If you know of anyone looking for one, happy to sell it for...

Re: My first night on VPAP
Mark, I'm glad you're loving your shiny new S9 VPAP Auto. I have the same machine. Like you I found that it makes my breathing much easier. In my case, my IPAP is only a wee bit higher than my max pressure setting on my previous machine (S9 Autoset) and my PS is almost the same as the EPR setting I...

long Hypopneas on VPAP Adapt
I have Mixed Apnea and have moved from a CPAP Adapt S9 onto a VPAP Adapt.... everything improved... on CPAP I was having insp time that was twice the duration of exp time, my tidal volume and respiratory rates were lower, my AHI, though fairly well managed was still 3 times higher, I had clusters of...

pressure difference between IPAP and EPAP
from what I've read, the pressure difference between IPAP and EPAP should be around 3-4 but my difference is consistently around 1.2-1.4 These were the differences so far: IPAP 8.48 EPAP 7.23 DIFFERENCE OF 1.2 IPAP 6.99 EPAP 5.75 DIFFERENCE OF 1.24 IPAP 8.43 EPAP 7.04 DIFFERENCE OF 1.39 IPAP 7.75 EP...

Re: Normal duration range for apneas/hypopneas with CPAP?
yeah Todzo... seems it works like this... EDS is a connective tissue disorder.... connective tissue protects nerves throughout the body including the autonomic nerves involved in breathing and those in the brain involved in info processing... but also all muscles including those involved in respirat...

Re: on Resmed S9 autoset and worried about centrals
doing great on VPAP... first time with 0 apneas... AND the I:E ratio was finally in the right direction... with CPAP the Inspiration time was always LONGER than the Expiration time... almost double... on VPAP it normalised - yay

Inspiratory-expiratory ratios
I have mixed apnea and just moved from CPAP to VPAP first time I feel it has been 'me' breathing assisted by the machine more than 'forced' to breathe I told the technition at MCS that the back pressure on breathing out made my reflexes 'ready' to breathe back in and that on CPAP I felt I was breath...

Re: Normal duration range for apneas/hypopneas with CPAP?
With a CPAP machine, centrals are reported but not treated. Hypopneas should be treated by increasing pressure just like an obstructive apnea. It's odd that no where along the line was an ASV titration done that would show whether or not your centrals could be effectively treated. The AutoSet is a ...

Re: Normal duration range for apneas/hypopneas with CPAP?
Hi, some more knowledgable people will follow here, but I'm curious about a couple of things... for one, centrals are not usually addressed by 'regular' Cpap (or auto), and a different machine is necessary, i.e. one that can register them to begin with, which a regular machine normally won't (thoug...

Re: on Resmed S9 autoset and worried about centrals
Your S9 will identify, but not treat central apneas no matter what the pressure is set at. The CPAP only stops obstructive apneas. Can you post pictures of 1 or 2 nights from sleepyhead? If most of the centrals come when you are awake or just falling or awakening from sleep, it may not be a serious...

on Resmed S9 autoset and worried about centrals
would like an opinion on this... I'm on a Resmed S9 Autoset (dx 2013 Mixed Apnea, largely centrals and hyponeas) AHI reduced well with this machine working 95% of the time at max pressure but still having series of centrals I'm not convinced its touching (also had a 130 sec hypopnea it looked like i...
