Re: Just been diagnosed help this newbie

You've made this claim more than once. Exactly what data does the IntelliPAP record that the S9 does not record??? Exhale Puff Index and Pressure Plateau Time are two things that instantly spring to mind. EPI refers to inhaling through your nose but exhaling through your mouth (which would make the...

Re: Just been diagnosed help this newbie

Oh, that is very nice, particularly since it seems insurance guidelines will allow a replacement machine at five years. It would be like leasing the darn thing in that its always under warranty. Depends on your insurance. Some (like most BCBS plans) allow a replacement every three years, and there'...

Re: Just been diagnosed help this newbie

Get the doctor to specifically write on a prescription for a "Resmed S9 Autoset with Humidifier". I have to butt in and say this is not necessarily good advice. Are you kidding me?? Sheriff No. In fact, I gave several reasons, and you have yet to dispute any of them. Let me reiterate. The DeVilbiss...

Re: Wisp??

The problem is that my insurance isn't paying for any of these masks...I am. If this one doesn't work for me, does that mean all nasal masks won't? Because they all rest on the nose. I have tried 2 different ones and they both left marks. There are reasons I don't want to go with pillows and the FF...

Re: Comparing Trevel Machines

Interesting... neither of those are advertised as travel machines, but the Fisher Paykel Intellipap Auto is, yet it performs as well as the others and is a bit lighter and smaller. You could look at the many different features of all 3 on Cpap.com and chose what suits you. Did you mean the Devilbis...

Re: First appointment with my DME today

Thanks! I did check and see I have the 460 model (I really would be suspect if they tried selling me a discontinued model!). Basically for machine with the visit, that's all I had to choose. For me, I am happy with it as it's fully data capable and really quiet when running. I'm sure as I use it mo...

Get the doctor to specifically write on a prescription for a "Resmed S9 Autoset with Humidifier". I have to butt in and say this is not necessarily good advice. You CAN request an S9, but I wouldn't recommend it. The S9 series has fewer options to record efficacy data in general, and while the S9 A...

Re: First appointment with my DME today

The biggest things to know are that you have complete choice on what equipment you have (though if your RX says a specific machine or mask, the DME is required to give you that machine/mask). The mask if the big thing to think about, because you want one that;s comfortable and doesn't leak. Those ar...

Re: New F&P full face mask ("Simplus")

I haven't been able to get my hands on the Simplus yet, but I can say it should be drastically different from the Quattro Air. The Air is great in that it's lightweight and you can't feel the forehead piece (both features the Eson shares, and the Simplus will likely have as well), but the Quattro Ai...
