Re: SleepyHead Question

Which version of sleepyhead are you using. I just got mine a week ago, it also has on the modem. My first try I had an older version and it wouldn't find any data on the card. I upgraded and voila!

Re: First night, so discouraged

Hoping someone a little more veteran steps in here. An AHI of 0.78 sounds really good! The total leaks I cannot comment on because it varies by machine, pressure and mask and such. For instance, my total leaks are around 38. I look more at "leaks" which are more of the mask leak events. To me your n...

Re: First night, so discouraged

First off welcome to the forum, I am rather new myself and have only been on CPAP for 9 nights now. Perhaps I am one of the lucky ones in that my first night I maybe slept a total of 2-3 hours but felt more rested than I did after 8 hours. All I can say is don't get discouraged. My sleep sucked for ...

Re: First three days; not so good?

I remember being thrilled that I had OSA, it wasn't all in my mind, there is an actual name for it! I am actually very happy that my doctor suggested that I could have sleep issues. While being a pain to deal with, I have been feeling better each day after using CPAP and I even seem to be eating a ...

Re: First three days; not so good?

The mask for me doesn't seem to be an issue, leaks don't seem to happen all that much. I am getting one of the CPAP pillows soon so hoping that helps with finding a good pillow position not to disturb the mask seal. For me it just seems that I am too aware of my breathing when on CPAP. I don't know ...

Re: Quattro AIR....ZERO LEAKS????

Guessing perhaps you were stating "Total Leaks" and he was just stating "Leaks"?

Re: First three days; not so good?

Thanks mgaggie for the words of encouragement, I really need to hear them after another slightly awful night. I am feeling better in the daytime now though, just wishing I could sleep better at night but it comes with time. I do notice a lot of positives in how I feel so I am sticking with it, I jus...

Re: apnea/hypopnea duration re Sp02

While I am still rather new at this, I don't think you can correlate a set number to that. It depends on how bad the hypopnea was I think but I am thinking with that longer duration you would definitely see a marked SpO2 desaturation.

Re: First three days; not so good?

Oh yes, I am using the CFlex option on setting 2 and must say it does help quite a bit. Just think I have to acclimate to things a bit more and hopefully I will do better.

Re: First three days; not so good?

Yes, 35 centrals for the night (which was 428 minutes) so that's like 4.9/hr for no CPAP and 39 centrals (over 519 minutes) or 4.5/hr on CPAP.

Re: First three days; not so good?

In your sleep studies was there any mention as to whether you had more apnea events when sleeping on your back and/or during REM stage sleep? Either one or both is very common and might account for some of the clusters (OAs and hyponeas) (assuming you were asleep) perhaps needing more pressure duri...

Re: First three days; not so good?

Thanks for the feedback. Since I am home today, perhaps I will just put it on and run it while I watch a little tv. I do have problems with stomach acid and all and have noticed in the past few days that I am not eating as much and being consciously better about what I do eat and when. I had a tende...

Re: First three days; not so good?

Urgh, the joys to loo forward to! Quality of sleep is less than great. Once I get to sleep, I sleep for maybe 2-3 hours then usually wake. If I can get back, it make take anywhere from 1/2 - 3 hours. After I fall back, the next block of sleep seems even shorter. Last night I remember waking three ti...
