Re: CPAP - lungs hurt
Guys...my heart is fine...thanks to my recent nuclear stress test an the like...not an issue... What I am feeling is more related to a soreness in my throat and lungs that almost feels like I am getting pumped up like a balloon. Again, hard to describe...almost like what you might if you have ever b...

CPAP - lungs hurt
Okay, I have been on CPAP for several years with limited improvement. Numbers look good, AHI is in .4 - .7 range - pretty darn good but I still feel like crap half of the time. My compliance is near-perfect. I am set to Auto mode with the allowable range being between 8-20. Usually the machine puts ...

Re: Was doing great but all of a sudden...
I just read about UARS. I wasn't aware of it and don't know much about it. I can tell you that my stats look very clean at night with very few events. Recently, I've struggled with the occasional sensation like I am breathing through a straw (like to much resistance for comfortable inhalation). I am...

Was doing great but all of a sudden...
I have been on CPAP now for 2 years and been very good with compliance. After getting used to the machine and extended use, I really started to feel better. Recently, however, I have started to feel like I'm headed back downhill - headaches, tired, like back to the days before CPAP but I am still co...

CPAP gone haywire?
Hello. I have been on CPAP now for 2 years and, after an initial few months of struggle, have been doing exceptionally well with compliance. Lately, my machine has started making a weird resonating sound that I am not used too. I have also noticed I am not feeling so good lately (like I did before I...

Re: Still New and Sleepy - Interpreting Flow Graphs
It took months of use for me to start feeling better... My personal opinion is, if you spend months depleting your body of adequate sleep, you can't expect to be back up and running in a short time frame. Think of your sleep "bank" as a running average or running balance. It may take extended use to...

Re: Congestion - possible humidity issue?
I have tried a couple of other masks before I was finally able to get comfortable with the Wisp.
How does a mask cause congestion? Is is from the external fit pressure pushing on your nose?

Re: Congestion - possible humidity issue?
Thanks.
I am using a Wisp nasal mask with head gear.
Is it possible to "pre-heat" the humidifier that you know of?

Congestion - possible humidity issue?
I have been good with my CPAP compliance, but I struggle anytime I end up with nasal congestion - feels like I breathing through a straw after running a marathon. Here lately, I have been going to bed breathing just fine but wake up in the middle of the night with stifling congestion that causes me ...

I too expected miraculous results after my first night...and, like you, was less than thrilled with the results.
I have come to learn it is a work-in-progress that may take many weeks to feel the benefit.

Re: Average Leaks & still tired question!
Also, one additional question:
My AHI for the in-hospital sleep study was in the 10-12 range. I know this is considered mild. Is this really high enough to cause someone to feel fatigued?

Re: Average Leaks & still tired question!
One more important note, I did try increasing the pressure to 6 (non-auto mode) for a week (couple of months ago) and my AHI dropped to the 1-2 range instead of the 2-3 range. This was before I understood and had access to all the statistics from my machine. I set it back after a week as I knew they...
