Re: Middle night wakings - have to stop CPAP
Thanks for the response all. My machine does store data, and I semi-regularly look at it using Sleepy Head software, but must admit that apart from looking at the AHI figure, which is always low, I don't really know how to interpret the data, and understand what it's telling me. One thing that I rea...

Re: Increasing Slow Wave Sleep with Gabapentin???
When I was first diagnosed with apnea, my sleep doctor also suggested I go on Gabapentin as well, as my sleep study showed a lot of leg restlessness and the Gabapentin would possibly calm that down to give me a better sleep. I took anywhere between 1 and 3, 300mg capsules each night to see how the d...

Middle night wakings - have to stop CPAP
Hi all, I've been using CPAP for about the last 18 months, but for the last 6 months it's been a bit of a struggle. I find myself waking in the middle of the night, and tossing and turning (as much as that is possible) with my mask on. The only way I can get back to sleep is to take the mask off. As...

Re: AHI and Time of CPAP
I've only been on CPAP for about 5 weeks, but I have similar AHI levels. I don't have the details with me, but from memory, my lowest has been around 0.9, and highest 4.8. I'm also interested to know how this compares to the results from the sleep study - has being on CPAP delivered a significantly ...

Re: Sleep study results - now medicated!
Hi all - thanks for the responses. Ok - to cut a long story short, the sleep study that I had, was an ambulatory sleep study - so I was hooked up to a series of monitors, told to go home, then return everything the next day. Seemed like a better option to me than staying overnight in Hospital. I'm n...

Re: Sleep study results - now medicated!
Thanks for the replies guys - it's all very confusing at the moment, getting used to the new abbreviations and what they all mean. I have a month of data using both Sleepyhead and Encore - and whilst sum of it I understand, until I stop and take the time to digest what all the graphs mean - a lot of...

Sleep study results - now medicated!
I first saw my sleep study doctor a month ago, and he advised me to start using a CPAP machine straight away, whilst waiting for the results of my sleep study test. Well, I saw him again today, and he says I have moderate sleep apnea. The concern I have, is that after using my CPAP machine for a mon...

Re: Which software for my machine and where do I buy it?
Hi all, I'm a new user from down under in Australia, and only discovered cpaptalk.com today. I have been trialling a Respironics System One 60 series Aflex with humidifier for the last month, and can't say I have found a major difference in my sleep and energy patterns since starting with it - but t...
