Pressure changing continually

Every night there are large changes in the pressure between my min and max pressures (5-9) during the course of the night. I believe what happens is that the S9 ups the pressure in response to "Flow Limitation" events, and then reduces the pressure when these events go away. Here's an example from l...

Re: Switch from Full Face to Nasal--Mask Suggestion?

I have tried a lot of different masks over the last few weeks, since I have just gotten started on CPAP. FWIW, the one I like best is the Mirage FX. Like you, I sleep on my side and move around a lot.

Re: Finding the right nasal pillow

I believe I have the new mouthpiece. I haven't tried it properly yet - I am still struggling with the idea of having something in my mouth all night.

I will try the Aloha and Opus 360. Thanks for the suggestions,

Re: Should I up my pressure?

I am not using EPR - the machine came with it turned off - but I had been wondering whether I should turn it on. During my brief experience with a nasal mask in the sleep lab, I found it very difficult to exhale, but I was pleasantly surprised not to have this problem at home. Not sure whether it's ...

Should I up my pressure?

My doctor prescribed an APAP with a seting of 5-9. However, this was an educated guess since there was no titration done during my sleep study. My study showed an AHI of 31, with the vast majority of events being hypopneas rather than apneas. I am travelling without a PC so I cannot get full data fr...

Finding the right nasal pillow

I just got started with CPAP a week ago and have been trying out a number of masks. I am reasonably happy with the Mirage FX nasal mask, but I think there is potential for me to like nasal pillows better. I started with the Swift FX, but I find the outer rim of the pillow pushes uncomfortably into t...

Re: Starter set of masks

Thanks for the helpful replies. It's nice to come across a web board where everybody is so pleasant and supportive. I am going to be in the US for a fortnight, and cpap.com offers return insurance for masks -- even for free on some of the models I'm interested in. So I decided to buy a larger select...

Re: Starter set of masks

With a prescription from Thailand, can cpap.com legally ship equipment to the US? The Prescription FAQ includes this: Will you accept a prescription from a doctor in my country? Yes. If you have a valid international prescription we will ship your order to any US state except Texas, or to your coun...

Starter set of masks

I was just diagnosed with severe sleep apnea a few days ago at a hospital in Bangkok, where I live. As it happens, I am due to travel to the US next week, so my doctor kindly suggested I buy the necessary equipment online at cpap.com and have it delivered to my hotel in the US, since the Thai price ...
