Re: OT: Anyone use a NuWave induction cook top
Saw an infomercial on that NuWave induction cook top last night. Anyone here have any experience with one? Pros and cons? I don't have the NuWave specifically, but I have one that looks a lot like it I purchased from Amazon. I love it. I keep it on top of my lousy, conventional stovetop, which I ha...

Re: sleepmapper
I use it and Sleepyhead. If all you care about is compliance and the barest of efficacy data, it's fine. If you'd actually like to know what's going on with your treatment, it's basically worthless. I really only use it because it doesn't seem to cost me having its uploader automatically uploading m...

Re: Best pulsoximeter for SleepyHead?
So Pugsy are you actually importing the data into SleepyHead? I noticed that the The CMS 50D does not keep time. Does SleepyHead account for this? I was thinking of making this purchase. At the risk of being pedantic, it's the 50D Plus, not the 50D you'd want. (The 50D doesn't record.) It doesn't k...

Re: Quattro FX Cushion Leaking After 1 Month
After reading some of the reviews of the FX FFM, I see that the cushions have a short lifespan. Okay ... but 30 days seems pretty poor, given that it costs $50+ to replace. So ... Could I be doing something wrong all of a sudden, after having no problems in my first month? Would a Pad-a-Cheek type ...

Re: Saving Data From CMS 50D+??
(Dumb question #87) How do I get the CMS 50D+ to write a data file to my PC? You want the SPO2 Review software, which I inconveniently do not have in front of me. You can get some guidance from here: http://www.pulseoxstore.com/CMS-50E_INSTRUCTIONS_1_.pdf (it says it's for the 50E, but you really j...

Re: CM550D PLus Oximeter
In a nutshell, after step 6, do I just insert finger and go to sleep? Just ignore all that stuff about measurement interface et al? Yes. You should see a little flashing dot on the display while it's recording. Just put it on your finger and go to sleep. As it so eloquently states in those instruct...

Re: Which machine to get?
Evidently, Kaiser has a deal with Apria to cover all their sleep apnea patients, whether Kaiser is going to pay for the equipment or not. Apria told me there is a better price for Kaiser patients but they would not tell me their regular price. So I am unclear how good this price it. Anyone know abo...

Re: PRS1 Data Storage Behavior
But I can tell you how to the flow graphs back on that SD card..it's easy. Just copy the xxx.005 files (that's the wave form graphs) and put them on the SD card (they go in the P0 folder) that has them missing...or you can just copy the entire P0 folder from the SD card you want to use for your exp...

PRS1 Data Storage Behavior
I'm trying to nail down the data storage behavior of the PRS1, and I guess specifically the Series 60 machines. I've been using my machine for almost 2 months, and based on the data, I believe I'm about ready to try to minor tweaks to the settings. However, the SD card has the prescription on it, an...

It would be hard to provide less.robysue wrote:First impression: It's pretty simple to use and may provide a bit more data that the PR SleepMapper website does.
The only reason that I use the SleepMapper site at all is because the uploader handles uploads automatically.

Re: Insurance Frustrations + CPAP purchase
Do they make you sign a form when you get the machine? I might just keep mine. I had to sign a form each time I took a piece of loaner equipment (2 WatchPATs and a titration CPAP). I don't think they told me what my estimated charges would be if I didn't return the WatchPATs, but they did have pric...

Re: PR Series 60 data help, and why is it smothering me?
There's nothing crazy about Parallels. I've been using it for the past three to four years. It's just more convenient to have a native Mac app than to have to fire up Parallels, then Windows, and wait for it to come alive and stop bugging me about updating antivirus or doing Windows updates. Perfec...

Re: Chin strap to prevent apneas?
Well, I assume the two studies they reference are:
Treatment of Severe Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome with a Chinstrap
The effects of chin lift and jaw thrust while in the lateral position on stridor score in anesthetized children with adenotonsillar hypertrophy.
Not exactly exhaustive...

Re: Change your philosophy about CPAP!
It gives me some hope, forthguy, to hear that in at least one place the process is taking advantage of the new technology and getting unstuck from the old ways! Do you have any idea what helped things shift where you are? Did anyone talk to you about the shift? Knowing that might make a difference ...

Re: Change your philosophy about CPAP!
The second shift that comes with the newest machines (with full data) would be the assumption that folks have to wait to be diagnosed in a lab. When my spouse said my snoring and periods of not breathing were disturbing, I told my doctor. It also fit with other issues we'd been addressing (being ti...
