Re: Diagnosed with OSA but won't use CPAP. Why?

Are you looking for an excuse not to save your life? The thing is, this forum is for people who are on Cpap, or at least trying their best to make it work. I don't know how many non-users you'll find. I'll jump in. I recently sold my machine to a board member because I gave up on it. I was getting ...

Re: 2.5 months - No success

I have a range, but my minimum is 9 and never rises above 10. Humidty on 3, any higher and it feels like drinking through my nose. Lower and it dries out/irritates what I think to be where the nasal 'path' meets the throat. Masks I've tried the comfortgel, easylife, (forget the 3rd) and most recent ...

2.5 months - No success

I got my PR 560 almost 2.5 months ago. I still can't get used to it. I've tried 4 different styles of masks. If I fall sleep with it at all, I'll wake up with it off (may or may not remember it). Most of the time I just lay awake for 2 hours and give up, it doesn't matter how tired I am. Ramp, no ra...

Re: CPAP Battery Knockoff?

I don't see any evidence of fraud here. Battery weighs more than posted... specs on the site are wrong, your scale isn't calibrated, you're weighing the battery AND enclosure. If you're going to jump to conclusions about the battery chemistry of the one you got, why can't be it be nickel cadmium or...

Re: To the Tap Pap users

I just started tap pap too, same thing. The first time I boiled and fit it felt like my teeth were in a vise when cooled. I eventually got it sorted out, what was really bugging me is I have a deep channel between my incissors and the teeth next to them (whatever you call the ones between them and t...

Re: PR System One Heated Humidifier Wattage

On the side the PR1 there is an electrical connection with six pins just below the air exit. Thank you for the response. I think I will disable the humidifier until I resolve this with the DME. I just double-checked my 50-series with the 60 watt supply and it's only got a 4-pin connector on the hum...

Re: I sleep better without CPAP than with

I have a similar problem. I just can't get used to contact with my face. Pressure's fine, machine noise is fine, hose is fine, humidity is fine, but something strapped to my head and touching my face sucks. I've got a tap pap on the way since it'll only touch my nose and teeth (and I happen to like ...

Re: Help! Anybody have a extra PRS1 series 50 humidifier?

For safety reasons, the heat disk must have a thermal overload sensor. Some types of sensor (like the one in my hairdryer) automatically reset when they cool down. Others, (like the one in my rice cooker) cannot be reset and must be replaced. Maybe, that may be why there are two wires that appear t...

Re: Help! Anybody have a extra PRS1 series 50 humidifier?

http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s220/ShawnTVT/photo-19_zpsf086acdb.jpg So, I don't think there's a coil in the heater. Red and Blue appear to be shorted/going to the same place (<3 ohms); I was not able to measure any millivolts DC with the pad heated between any pins (so I don't think there's a...

Re: Help! Anybody have a extra PRS1 series 50 humidifier?

I looked my 60 series humidifier, I have a 6 pin connector VS your 4 (you can see extra wires for the heated hose). I'll get the meter out of the garage and see if I can get it pinned out. Depending on what part of the humidifier that the machine's complaining about, you might just throw a large cer...

Re: Help! Anybody have a extra PRS1 series 50 humidifier?

Hmmm, hard to say what the jumped what looks to be a ground. Perhaps a detection mechanism for heated tube option or something. I would say black is probably your ground, red is your hot wire for the heating element and blue may be a thermocouple for detecting heat. It'd be interesting to see the he...
